Ucla Arts...!!!!

I didn't get the postcard from UCLArts. I applied as a visual arts major. I'm thinking that maybe something was missing from my portfolio packet or maybe it's because I simply didn't get in.

Does a rejection from UCLArts mean a rejection to the University itself?

yes (10 char)

I got the same exact postcard thing as the person who started this thread (it's for architecture) and am really hopeful that it means acceptance like everyone else is saying...

i don't mean to be pessimistic, but i'm still pretty skeptical becaue UCLA is basically a huge reach for me considering my 3.5ish gpa weighted. unamazing portfolio. it would be pretty much shocking to me and everyone i know if i actually got in. so i'm thinking it's all probably just what it is. a nice-ish sign, but not acceptance... i don't know. maybe they just saw through my application to what an insanely cool person i am... uhh....

jacquelineee- Your gpa isn't that bad....i know people who got in to USC for art with 3.2 gpa. When i went to UCLA school of arts and architecture info meeting last year, they said that the average gpa for the school is 3.7-3.8. Anyway...where else did you apply? Any art schools?

countdown! woooot.

mm no art schools because they don't have orchestras really, which is kind of a must for me. for architecture though, i did get into syracuse university, which i'm really considering. but it's way more expensive since i'm in california right now and uhh.. the weather thing is intimidating.

lol blackandwhite you're nuts..

and.
is ucla's architecture program good?

why thank you jacquelineee...

and sorry.. i don't know anything about ucla's architecture program..

i think you enter the architecture program during your junior year. I'm not sure though. It kinda sucks that there are not many students from the school of arts and architecture on this board.

blackandwhite- haha. less than 48 hours!

oh sweet! I got one of those postcards the same day as art center's acceptance package.

Though, I pretty much decided to go to Art Center but it's awesome nonetheless

........the LA times article kinda made me feel sucky about my grades and gpa but......

Notorious.....can you post a link to that article?

oppps....found it on the other thread.....thanks!

whoo hoo. go school of arts and architecture!

yeeeeahhh baby!

^ did anyone read the Engineering thread?

How sure is everyone that this is INDEED a 100% admittance letter?

apparently theres variations of these "snail mail letters"

the engineering seems more straight forward whether you got in or not.

are there any art applicants receive a letter that is different from what everyone else is getting?

official decisions are out now. you can check at ucla.edu

thats for freshmen. I am a transfer applicant

btw, the architecture program is new this year. Its hard to determine whether its good or not.

^ you guys all seem so happy that it's a guaranteed admittance. I sure hope so, but if not, it would suck enormously.

Oh btw, since most of you guys are freshmen i assume and the decisions are out today, DID ANYONE NOT GET IN even with the open house invitation?

I got in as an Art major. Would love more information from other Art majors at the school.

congratz on your acceptance

Who applied as an arch major?

Still interested in who got in and who didn't with the open house letter.
