In 2008, I got into UCLA, Econ; Berkeley, HAAS; UCI, Econ; UCSD, and everything else below with a 3.63 from my main school and 3.76 overall average plus 1 W. I wrote a generic Personal statement on my work experience, but I was active every quarter.
I did one each semester:
-In Phi Theta Kappa, Treasurer
-Sales work experience for 1 year
-Volunteered for one semester as an after school tutor
-Worked in the Library
(Choose UCLA at the end due to the fact the environment is great! The girls are hot, networking is quick (students are more concentrated), food is vast! )

As long a transfer gets into the economics department he/she will be allowed to try for the Business Economics department.
Requirement for Bus Econ for all transferees (no matter bus econ or econ):
Get and average of 3.5 between the following classes: Econ 11, Econ 101

You don’t have a chance at UCLA BizEcon. It is just as difficult to be admitted into Econ as it is to be admitted into Biz Econ. You can not switch from Math/Econ to Econ (or Biz Econ). Math/Econ is apart of the Math department, not the Econ department. Your stats are very low for BizEcon. I wish you the best of luck at the other universities you attempt to transfer to.

it really depends man. people get rejected at haas, busecon with 4.0s and people get in with3.5s. it is about the passion. admissions can smell fakery.

I was a Math/Applied Science major who transferred in 09, and then changed majors to Math/Econ, I got a 3.875 in Econ 11/101/102 and Stat 100A (which is allowed to be substituted for Econ 41) with a 3.9 overall and I am eligible to declare Biz Econ.

Simply put, if you’re grades are high enough, you’ve talked to the counselors enough, you can get away with it. In fact, you can get away with a other stuff like taking Econ 101 and 102 at the same time like I did last quarter.

Nonetheless, I didn’t actually put in an app to declare Biz Econ because I am aiming for Departmental Scholars which requires math classes anyway. That + the fact Math>Econ>Stats>>>>>>>>>Accounting
