What’s interesting to note is that on the UCLA Waitlist 2020 thread, almost no instate got off the waitlist… many oos and ints got in though, compared to only a few instate
@lostinlife2021 omg congrats!! You’ll do so great Also congrats to other OOS who are accepted
@Gocal I think I did CSE instead of CS, and I am in-state. But I heard that any major for CoE is really hard to get off the waitlist. I really hope they accept us though.
@RyuuNao the incoming UCLA class of 2020 was huge though. the biggest freshman class they’ve ever had and most CA students they have ever had. I feel like it’s not a good comparison for this year…crossing fingers we have better luck.
I got into Cal yesterday and I’m waiting on UCLA fingers crossed!
Sure! I’d like to share it so more ppl can know their shots in getting into UCLA! So tbh my stats are kinda bad, my SAT score is only 1340…tho I think my essays really stood out! Plus I’ve participated in lotssss of ECA, eg I’m the President of the Student Union. Meanwhile I also actively engaged in community services!
So for the wait list essay, I’ve read a lot of comments and advise online, and I wrote about several things:
-community service that i have been doing, even after the application + my belief in justice and fairness
-my passion for the subject I picked (history) (very detailed) + related coursework briefly described
-why UCLA (very very detailed!)
-my love for LA
Feel free to ask me more !! Hope can help u guys out!
got into cal too (!!!) but already SIR’d so if i actually do get in (doubt it because in-state gdi) I’ll happily say no to them asap lmao
any one know if the wave of admissions from in state was today??
For those of you that haven’t gotten off the wait-list, have your portals changed at all? Because mine still has the original letter I got on March 17, but shows that I said yes to opting in.
@Danielleg3 thats what it shows for everyone who didnt get in yet
@hiyahiya123 okay thanks! Just making sure mine wasn’t messed up.
Has anyone got off for Engineering in general? or Instate after the 3rd?
I’m feeling hopeless knowing that so many people have already gotten into the waitlist…
@Jennax0x same… and since im instate, it seems like not many instate applicants get off of the waitlist either
i can’t stop thinking about ucla’s decision. it’s stressing me out so much. the wait is so long
ucla yield rate is probably high this year lol time 2 cryy
guys what if UCLA is waiting for accepted Berkeley waitlisted applicants to SIR, so there’ll be more openings at UCLA. This wait could be a good thing after all. Let’s not give up and hope for the best.
@bruinislife I’d like to think that but usually they send decisions for waitlist students within the first week of May and after that, chances are very low other students will get in
First wave is basically all the waitlisted students that UCLA wants and every wave afterward is determined by the amount of people who decide to accept their acceptances off the waitlist.
when is the first rumored instate wave supposed to be?
