@hiyahiya123 Do you mean “really is not diff from what @mamimami said”? I think the two reports are pretty much in line with each other. I definitely got the feeling that the admin officer wanted to give me as little actual information as possible. I continue to believe that the chances of getting off the waitlist into the college of engineering are slim. The good thing is that my son doesn’t seem to care at all. We’ll wait until the last day to submit housing deposit at his intended college, but at that point I don’t think we’ll look back.
Finally someone is talking wisely !!!
@kt1215 no problem! yeah i would say UCs definitely do care more about GPA over SAT/ACT scores compared to like… privates? I got into a few good privates but sighs @ LA and Cal…
Im just gonna have hope till Friday
So sad UCLA
Highkey praying that accepted UCLA applicants who SIRed on May 1st get accepted into the dream schools they were waitlisted at, so there’s more space for us, and it’s a win win for everyone.
Does anyone know how waitlist applications are reviewed. Do they like review a large batch and pick a number of applicants to accept, or it’s just random
@bruinislife Waitlist applicants are reviewed by UCLA’s needs. If UCLA needs more out-of-state students for funding, UCLA will accept out-of-state students from the waitlist. If there is a lack of social science majors attending UCLA, then UCLA will accept more social science majors.
@noceurs well congrats on the privates!! And hey I see Getting weightlisted at UCLA is an accomplishment so you’re great!
Instate, 35 ACT, and a 4.6 GPA. Still haven’t received news about the waitlist from UCLA. I’ll just have to wait and see. Shouldn’t have applied for an engineering major.
i really wish that ucla would just release the decisions so that I can focus on planning for college. this anxiety is killing me.
A bunch of people who had previously commit to ucla got off of the berk waitlist/commit (or so it seems by the 2021 FB page) so good luck yall !
thats good! High key hoping they change their plans.
@thenewstyped can you tell how many of the Berkeley admits were for Spring rather than Fall?
@lkg4answers From the Berkeley Class of 2021 FB page, a lot of the new ppl who got accepted off the waitlist were accepted for Spring 2018, but some engineering majors got in for the fall.
@thenewstyped were any cs majors?
GUYS I GOT INNN
For my waitlist statement, i showed my passion for my physiological science major (with Grey’s Anatomy;), why UCLA is the best fit for me in terms of its clubs, how I love that LA has numerous comedy improv classes to further my acting and comedic skills etc. My SAT score was really average (1300) but I’m an IB student with an upward trend in grades from 38 (in the first semester in the 11th grade) to perfect 42 (in my last semester in the 12th). I do 6 subjects btw. I also stated how being waitlisted helped me achieve my true potential as a student.
After my IB chemistry exam today, I saw that there was a UCLA financial aid email so I checked my portal and now I’m UCLA bound. Guys do not give up hope. Yesterday, I cried because I felt there was no chance in me getting of the waitlist, and today things have just turned around.
KEEP THE FAITH.
@bruinislife Aww congrats! Unfortunately I’ve already given up seeing as that many other people are more qualified than I am. Good luck at UCLA!
@bruinislife CONGRATULATIONS!!!
@bruinislife congrats! what time did you get the email?
