I feel like the first IS wave already happened. We have heard of some, though very few, IS people who got in already ://
From where you got this feeling ???
some offers were IB conditional particularly for students living outside the US (myself included), so some space might free up after July if those people don’t get their conditinos
@Dhe123 I believe they’d just put you on academic probation if you weren’t able to meet their requirements for IB
Are there any oos students in the first wave that declined their admission?
@lilavocado Thanks! Do you think high GPA makes up for average act score? Maybe that’s too vague of a question… not sure
@undenyme they wouldn’t rescind your offer?
any instates accepeted yet?
The wait is too stressful!!
@cheerxoxo1999 you could always call and ask if there are any more
Guys we are not getting in, face it lol
@bruinislife i did not accept mine.
@kt1215 maybe! my gpa was a 3.9 so perhaps it might’ve compensated for my lower score. but then again, i’m not 100% sure!! if anything, i think it was my essays that helped out.
@RyuuNao you’re right I just want my rejection letter already so I can move on instead of all this false hope
@hiyahiya123 Whenever I call them and ask the only thing they say is that it’s not over yet, they never reveal much information towards the topic
does anyone know when the next wave will come out?
@kt1215 imo (and from my experience) i think gpa is slightly more important than sat/act score for UCs. i have a high sat score and decent ecs, but my gpa is kinda low compared to other applicants from my school-- i was waitlisted from ucla and rejected from cal
@noceurs thank you! Yeah my UC GPA is well above average for their average I believe but in order to be a somewhat likely candidate I should probably get my act up. Good luck!
I phoned the admissions office today. I asked whether they were offering spots to in-state waitlist occupants. Was told yes, they are. I asked whether there were any waitlist offers from the college of engineering. Was told yes. Rep reiterated that they would end the process by June 1. I asked about housing after May 15th, was told that there could still be housing available after that date, but not guaranteed. So for the most part, I had the FAQ restated back to me, but I apparently got confirmation that there could be spots for in-state applicants, and could be spots in the college of engineering.
The admission officer also told me that the process will end by June 1. But the way I interpreted his tone of voice, it won’t have too many spots for the IS waitlists and for Engineering major. I hope I am wrong on this.
