UCLA -> Cal

i thought MIT was number 1. im not even sure if these stats are legit.

^ MIT has never been No. 1 for CivE...UIUC and Berkeley have been top dawgs in that discipline for a while.

So er, does neone think I have a chance of gettin into Cal if I apply for Fall 09.

I didn't take any AP classes in high school, nor did I even attend high school, so I don't know how the AP units transfer over, but one thing you need to take into consideration is the unit cap. UCB limits the amount of units you can transfer over with to 120 in order preserve your junior status and ensure that a good portion of your education is done at Berkeley. This means that you should highly conserve your courses and only take your major pre-reqs if you're already at 85 units. Again, check on how the units transfer over.

In order to stay competitive in any UCB major, you want to have at least a 3.5; however, the exact GPA really depends on your essay, EC's, family and personal background.
