Ucla: Can you switch majors?

<p>I just called into UCLA Admissions to ask if I could switch into the Anthropology major and she said no... Really??</p>

<p>I got admitted into UCLA for Fall 2011.
Admitted as women's studies
TAP: Yes
IGETC: Yes
GPA: 3.15</p>

<p>Can anyone tell me if this is true or not?</p>

<p>Please keep in mind that sometimes (most times) the phones are answered by student workers who want to keep their lines clear. (I’m a work-study student who works for a department too, sometimes you’re just super busy). </p>

<p>I think you can, and besides, you don’t even contact Admissions to switch majors, that’s already beyond their control. You contact the actual department and then follow up with your OC.</p>

<p>This is not true. The Anthro department will approve if you’ve completed at least 2 pre-reqs.</p>

<p>omg… she freaking scared the hell out of me because I have planned out my summer plans at LA. Thank you SMCguy and Rheel3 for clearing it up. This means I am ready to get approved to changed into Anthropology. :)</p>

<p>This link doesn’t mention anything about Anthro as a non-switchable major. Looks like you’re good.</p>

<p>Yes, I paid the $100 fee and submitted my SIR last week. I’ve also requested transcripts be sent to UCLA and applied for summer aid. I’m so ready to get things rolling…</p>

<p>It’s the BruinBill Account… I signed up for 2 classes and it shows up as $2700 dollars… I think I’m being charged based on Summer-Session visitor rates… I’m hoping it changes after my SIR has been processed.</p>

Of course! Summer schedule of classes was up since Feb 1st! Plus the deadline for financial aid was the 30th.</p>

<p>ahh i should do it already but i have been procrastinating for the ucla submission. Ahhh… we can say we are Bruins now :)</p>

<p>Umm, I hope the summer session tuition gets reduced when they start recognizing us as incoming transfers instead of visiting students. BAHHh $3000 for a couple classes are not worth it… :P</p>

<p>Yeah I’m doing 14 units and I was quite surprised by the bill. This is without housing… sheesh… 5000 + dollars for Summer school??? :/</p>

<p>hahaha… that is like half of the tuition for one year at UCLA. that is freaking ridiculous. at least we are not like my sister, she is currently studying at NYU with only half-full ride scholarship so she is down 25k a year for 4 years.</p>
