Ucla chem or ucb chem

So I got into cal and UCLA for fall 09, and I am a transfer from UCSD.

I got accepted into letters and science//Material Science/Chemistry at UCLA

I got college of chemistry/ chemistry at UCB.

I'm completely unsure which way to go.

I'm from LA, and I love it there, and I love the weather and food.

Cal has the prestige, but I'm not sure I can handle it, I get A-/B+ in my chem classes at UCSD. And I've read that its really tough at Cal.

I will live one year on campus at both places.

I plan to attend graduate school. Right now I'm leaning towards pharm school.

So does anyone have any suggestions?

If your pre-med / pre-pharmd then go to where ever you feel most comfortable and do well at. If you plan to pursue grad school chem or a career in chemistry then go to UCB because their program is one of the best.

Thanks.

I think that I wouldnt do very well in the UCB program, and if i plan to go to grad school isnt gpa important? and would UCB’s program although better ruin my GPA?

Believing you will do bad, will make you bad. You gotta think positive if you wanna make it through any tough class. Work hard and don’t half ass anything and you will do fine anywhere you go.

UCBs chem department is really good as is UCLAs, so just choose whichever school u feel more comfortable at, and yea, GPA matters for grad school

why are you transferring out of UCSD? im curious because I’m also a chemistry major leaning towards pharmacy I’m still deciding whether to go to UCLA or UCSD.

UCB is #1 in the nation as UCLA is # 10

seriously is UCB that much harder than UCLA? I happen to prefer a semester system over a quarter.

^ me too i love semester system

edugeek1, r u sure that list is undergrad, cuz UCSF is on there, so the list ur looking at is probably graduate
