UCLA Class of 2018 - Supplemental Questionnaire Applicants // Updates, Information, Decisions

@Prosaicminds that just means they’re already made a definite decision for you.

@Prosaicminds Yupp! hc1996 is right!!

Sorry for popping in but is it really bad if I got a supplemental from UCLA and I’m freaking out because I haven’t heard back?
T^T

My mom is starting to think I got rejected to every school I applied to bc I havent heard back at all and every time someone mentions it I’m having a mental breakdown.

As for stats, I have a 3.7 unweighted GPA and Idk what my UC GPA is but I took a lot of IB/AP classes and I am an IB diploma candidate. I have around average extra-curriculars and my SAT was 2240.
Math: 700 Writing: 740 Reading: 800

I’m also getting quite paranoid bc I only received a supplement from UCLA and not all the other UC’s I applied to… I applied to UC Berkeley and UC Irvine and UCSD and I am an in-state resident.

@iamnotready which supplement (talent, disability/hardship, borderline) did you get? And no, it does not mean you are rejected from those UC schools. You just have to wait. Your stats are good, so I do not understand why you would receive a supplement. At the same time, it depends on what supplement they sent you.

I know… I didn’t think my stats were that bad which is why I am totally freaking out.
I got one for talent and hardship. in the extra comments box of the UC application I just mentioned a brief summary of my family situation (parents were on the brink of divorce and we had problems with the church my dad was preaching at) and so I wrote about that with the help of my counselor. But I mean, besides from providing a few extra details, I dont know if it was effective.

I never mentioned anything for talent… like at all, so I was really confused why I got that one… And I’m worried bc if I was “borderline” for UCLA does that mean I got rejected from all those UCs? I was just confused bc I dont know why I was asked to write a supplement…

@iamnotready Maybe they already accepted you and wanted a little more information. Your personal statement/additional comments section probably spurred a supplemental questionnaire from UCLA. Do not worry, unless you did not complete the A-G requirements. Admissions from the UC’s are completely independent from one another. Good Luck!

@iluvfredv

Oh okay. That sounds a lot better than the possibilities that were running through my head. Whew. I should have thought about that before going on panic mode. Thank you!

@iamnotready, with those stats I’m sure you got into many, if not all, of the UCs you applied to. Relax.

My son has applied to UCLA and has also received a talent supplement. He has taken the time and effort to elaborate more on his talent which is really his passion towards research in which he has published a journal article. But his SAT standardized scores are little lower than what typical UCLA averages are. So we are keeping fingers crossed. Good luck to all that were given another chance by UCLA to shine your light. You may know that this year they have received highest number of applicants ever - a whopping 105,000.

I’m in a similar situation @Caprof! So nervous for Friday :((

For those who got the UCLA -Borderline/Talent/Disability- supplement Please do not forget to post your status on Friday eve! Good luck to all! 4 more days to go! :)

Of course! Ahh I can’t wait any longer. Hopefully we all get in here :slight_smile:

I recieve the supplemental question but I feel like my chances of getting in are very little :/

I received it from UCLA, UCD, and UCSD. Accepted to UCD :slight_smile: and waitlisted at UCSD. :frowning:

well… should i be concerned that I didn’t get the supplemental questions from any of the schools in uc (berkeley and ucla)? i mean i think my stats are decent. sat 2250 m 750 cr 730 w 770 subj tests math 2 800 world histoyr 800 physics 750. really good ec’s but okish essays… lol i though they were really good when i wrote them but they are like ok now that i look back at them. well if it makes a difference i recieved inviation to apply to the leadership scholarship at uc berkeley. and i have a strong course load…

lol im out of the loop from ucla cuz the last thing that i heard from them was some confirmation email back in nov. when i applied

@mehh1234 No you should not worry. If you did not get the supplemental questionnaire, that mean they made a definite decision on your case without referring to additional information. the information you provided on your UC application was enough for them to come up with a final decision. it can either be a straight forward acceptance or rejection. which you will find out soon ( friday for UCLA & 27th for UCB). And No, Being invited to apply for the UCB leadership or achievement scholarship has no bearing on your admission decision almost everyone who applied gets it. Your SAT is very good when it comes to UCB and LA, but also you have to watch out for your GPA, ECs and Essays, which might make a difference even if your SAT is up to the deal. Good luck tho!
