anyone here get into/apply to UCI?
Those who got Regents/CHP or CHP were already notified of their Irvine acceptance last Saturday.
I apologize if this has already been addressed, but if someone receives the invitation to apply for the Alumni Scholarship and does not complete the application, will this have a negative effect on admission?
@doc325 I got into UCI and I was selected for CHP. All CHP students have received their acceptances.

@sjsprint yeah I also got into UCI but I didn’t get invited for the UCLA alumni scholarship. A few of my friends with ok stats (who didn’t get into UCI) got invited though. Weird how these things work…
You don’t need to be invited to UCLA Alumni Scholarship in order to apply.
All of the applicants can apply.
Did you get both UCI Regents and CHP?
@steventocollege No I just got CHP. But do you think that it’s a good sign if UCLA asks you to apply for the Alumni Scholarship even if anyone can apply? That’s what the other guys at my school want to know
The chance is definitely higher for those who were invited to apply for the UCLA Alumni Scholarship (70-80%) than those who weren’t (18%).
My son received a letter from UCI stating that approximately 200 out of the 5,500 first-year students each year participate in CHP. I wonder how many of those 200 participants also got Regents?

So I’m currently working on my application for the UCLA Alumni Scholarship and I was wondering if the people reviewing the scholarship application have access to our UC application. I was wondering this because I wanted to reuse one of my essays from my UC app in the scholarship app becuase it fits perfectly and I read somewhere that they don’t have access to it but I’m not totally sure if that’s true. So what do u think I should do?
@stalnr I’m pretty sure that they don’t have access to your UC application (that’s what I read too) but I’m going to call and ask. Then again not sure if they’re open/will answer on the weekend so that might have to wait until Monday

It always says by mid-late march and while this is by no means official, historically its usually on a friday. March 13th is too early and March 27th is too late so i’d bet on it being March 20th

I received an email invite to apply for the UCLA Alumni Scholarship. I have a 3.97 UW GPA, 4.29 W GPA (not sure if this is by UC standards), 31 ACT, and also qualify for ELC, meaning UCs identify me as the top 9% of my class by their calculations. I am applying for the scholarship, but I’m wondering at what stage of the entire process you become an Alumni Scholar? Do you have to make it past the first round of interviews? At what point are you in ASC, even if you don’t advance to the State Finals? The money is definitely a perk, but as an in-state applicant, I’m more intrigued by the social and service benefits of being an Alumni Scholar. Thanks!

@uclabound1 my D received the Alumni Scholarship by email and is currently working on the essays. She got a personal phone call yesterday from someone from UCLA Alum wanting to know if she was working on her application and if she would be submitting it by this Friday. Does everyone get phone calls like that or is this any indication of being in a top tier?? Thanks for your input…you’ve been very informative!
I received an email invitation in late January for the UCLA Alumni Scholarship. Finishing up my app now 
Stats:
ACT: 36 (S36, R36, M35, W36)
GPA: 5.2W, 4.8UW (5.0 scale)
SUPER excited. I’m OOS so any possibility of scholarship money is amazing.
