@Joseph590 Oh that’s weird…my major doesn’t show up either. hmm.
same @Joseph590 @StudentAgain
same here on major.
Same here too
Where is our major supposed to show up? What do you guys see on your portal?
I believe the major used to be listed below our name? I’m not sure since it’s not there anymore. Is yours still somewhere in your portal @UCmon19 ?
Yes, it used to be under your name. For example:
First Name Last Name
Address
City, State, Zip
Email
Major
But the major part is gone now.
I don’t see my major either. What does it say for application status on your portal?
@UCmon19 Still says ‘Application Received’.
I looked through last years thread and some people mentioned their major disappeared too. Seems like it didn’t really mean anything and it potentially is the same for everyone.
@StudentAgain Thanks! That’s what mine says.
Sup everyone!
Super late on posting this but we got a little over a month to hear back.

Major GPA: 3.63
GPA: 3.74

TAG: UCI Computer Science
Other schools: UCB (Cog Sci), UCSC (Comp. Sci), UCD (Comp. Sci), UCSD (Cog Sci)

Big negative is I have 2 Ws in Calculus 2 (I dropped the class with a B last semester, and retaking this semester, massive mistake in hindsight. clarified reasoning for Ws in additional comments).
Positive is 4.0 in Computer Science and Psychology prerequisites (Intro to Psych, Object Oriented Programming, and Program Design/Data Structures)
Took my first semester of university at a CSU (not sure if this matters if at all?)
I think I’ll be rejected from all North California schools since I am missing Discrete Mathematics (and to a lesser extent Assembly Language) but Irvine was my goal all along so I won’t be upset. I will be extremely shocked if I’m denied to UCSD Cog Sci, and I’m not sure how UCLA will go. If I’m denied here I will probably go to Irvine over UCSD. I also have the option of staying an additional year to complete prerequisites (missing Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Physics Series) to reapply UCB and UCLA Computer Science but I don’t think my GPA will be high enough because I got a B in Intro Comp Sci lmao.
also i talked to an admissions officer at UCLA and he told me they will be earlier with the decisions this year, should be around 2nd week of April if i remember correctly?
@yusanlol Hey! I go to DVC too! and I’m tagging to UCI as well (BIM) I applied for cog sci at UCSD but econ at UCLA. Good luck!
Anyone else get this email?
The date they’re asking for is the summer gap between my high school and college. Wonder why they ask, I assume it’s normal to not apply to summer session after high school Lol

Applied to UCLA, UCSB, and Cal. Just got an email asking for the transcript for the CC I went to for one class in high school
Damn, I got another email asking me to put in my spring classes in TAU too, for context I’m a UC to UC transfer, anyone have insight on what this could mean???
@tsun23 At least from what I have read online, this is usually when they can’t make an obvious decision and want some more information before they accept or deny.
@mpineda3247 Really? So UC’s asking for additional information via email(ex. gap year) means that those selected applicants weren’t strong enough for them to make an obvious decision?
yeah I’m going to have to doubt what those other people say, there’s nothing in what I just added that should swing the decision either way, I personally think it’s just verification of special academic circumstances
For those who were asked for additional information/documents by UC, did you guys receive an acknowledgement letter or response that they received what they asked for or even answer for your questions?
