UCLA Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@bksyazd I’m a Global Studies Major! :slight_smile:

@gokingsgo1999 Actually UCLA is part of the college admissions scandal, their head soccer coach was just charged for falsifying records for a girl who didn’t even play soccer. I don’t know if this would really affect admissions, at least for transfers.

@npound yikes!! jokes on me!!! That bs is so shameful. :-&

@gokingsgo1999 UCLA was the only UC listed in the scandal. It was mentioned many times as one of the target schools. A couple kids got in there.

So they’re delaying our decisions? Is that true? ?

Honestly I do not think the scandal will affect the transfer admission.

@gokingsgo1999 Where did your friend get the information that our decisions got delayed?

@vousmeuerz She heard it from a friend in passing, so not super credible. I couldn’t find any announcements or even any publications of this rumor anywhere online so, fingers crossed we will be notified when we were expecting!!

@gokingsgo1999 @vousmeuerz @sagaciousforever Yesterday, at STOMP, one of the school officials gave a speech and actually addressed this. Yolanda something was her name. Anyway she said that one current student and one prospective student were implicated in the ordeal and that is in now “in the hands of the Department of Justice.” take it for what it is.

Someone chance me? lol

Really nervous that my GPA is not competitive enough, but hopefully my upwards trend will somewhat “compensate” for that! lmao

@twelveseveneight oh my god you were a tournament of roses intern?! My senior year (2016-2017) I was a student ambassador for the Tournament of Roses!! When were you an intern?

@holatomm oho you’re like an insider!! thank you for this info:)

For UCLA business economics students right now (or used to be), I am wondering if it is possible to be admitted if you are currently in a business administration track who have completed intro economics, calculus, english, and accounting classes.

UCLA does not have business administration for undergraduate so I am worried but I still applied to Business Economics since UCLA was my dream school back in high school.

I lean towards to UCB HAAS more now since I directly applied to their business school. I study at a top 50, 4-year university in California.

@gokingsgo1999 I was an intern this past year! So Fall of 2018

Can someone tell me my chances of getting accepted as a communications major? I attend a CA CC and I have a 3.5 GPA which will definitely go up at the end of spring quarter. I am an honors student, club treasurer, and I have worked part time. I was also on the deans list my first 2 quarters at my current CC. Thanks! I can’t wait to find out if I got in!!

The median for UCLA Comm is around 3.93. You should choose Sociology instead. Even that is currently a stretch as lower competitive is about 3.65, but it’s an easier admit.

@Ohm888 Do you think a bio major with a 3.5 GPA could get in?

Here’s the mid-range GPAs: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

I can’t find the decisions date anywhere so I’m assuming they haven’t posted it…but I dont know. Berkeley is going to be April 19th which is earlier than it has been in the past few years. Does anyone have any info on this? or any predictions based on the berkeley date? I juST WANT TO KNOW ALREADY :(((((

@halpmehxd For now, UCLA’s decisions will come out late April. They may tell you the specific date later this month or earlier next month.
