I was wondering what some of you guys got for financial aid. I got a surprisingly good FA package. 19k in gift aid, which includes 12K in scholarships. I have a question for you GI bill collecting veterans out there. Did they calculate the GI bill into what you are supposed to contribute? They didn't calclulate it into mine, wondering if it's a mistake.

oh nice package. i got $0 =(

I got ~14k

Wow, congrats on getting that much in scholarships.

I ended up getting $4k in gift aid.

I'm not sure how to tell if they calculated my GI Bill into any of this because I don't see it listed specifically.

Edward: They had my student contribution listed before for the amount of GI bill money I was going to get for the year. But the provisional award letter has my student contribution listed as $0. Sounds too good to be true. Oh well, even if I do end up contributing from the GI bill, it will still be a good package.

Sounds like your GI Bill = beer money now. Win!

LOL.....that's what the GI bill should be used for.

lol

You're a history major too right? Even if I get into Cal I'll probably end up attending UCLA (so the wife can keep her current teaching job, with the budget cuts and all). I'll have to dip into my GI Bill fund a little too and grab a brew with you if you decide on UCLA as well!

Sounds good to me bro!

fijee: Student contribution is just the amount you have to put out of your pocket. Your gift + loans covers everything. I'm sure they took your GI into consideration

so not only did i NOT get the regents scholarship i get slapped in the face with absolutely no financial aid...that kinda blows

Anyone know how we're supposed to be notified of Regents?

I have quite a big gift aid amount, but it doesn't specify if it's Regents or not.

Wouldn't regents be listed on there? Not sure.

Is any of your gift aid broken down into who/what it is from? Mine is not. I was kind of curious.

Yea mines broken down into Cal grant, scholarships, work study, loans.

I see that too, but are the scholarships/grants themselves broken down for you?

It's broken down just like this.

Scholarship Recognition Award $$$$
Cal Grant $$$
University Scholarship $$$$

Federal Work Study $$$
Federal Stafford Loan $$$
Federal Perkins Loan $$$

Where can I find out all this information?
Can somebody give me the link for me?

Log into MyUCLA and click "Financial Aid Status" on the left hand column
