UCLA Financial Aid

am i looking at the right page for ucla financial aid: <a href="https://www.fao.ucla.edu/myfao/%5B/url%5D">https://www.fao.ucla.edu/myfao/</a></p>

how come it says this:

Document tracking functionality is available only to continuing UCLA students and to admitted students, who have completed their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR).

The Financial Aid Office has not received your financial aid application (FAFSA) for the current academic year. We cannot determine your eligibility for financial aid without this information. To complete the FAFSA or check on the status of a submitted application go to: FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

If you completed a FAFSA and UCLA has no record of it, please note:

* Applications are forwarded to UCLA within 5-7 business days, if submitted via web and 3-4 weeks, if submitted via paper.
* The process has not been completed, if the application was “Saved” and not “Submitted” for processing. If you were not presented with a confirmation page, your FAFSA may not have been submitted.
* UCLA (school code 001315) MUST be listed on your FAFSA.
* If the Social Security Number on your FAFSA does not match the SSN in our records, we will not receive your FAFSA data.

i'm pretty worried about this. i got some money from uci, but nothing is showing up for ucla. do i give them more time to update? do i need to first submit my sir first? please comment

thanks

You should be able to view your ePAL (electronic provisional award letter) on URSA. If it’s not there, call tham ASAP. People are already starting to appeal their financial aid offers and you want to catch them when there is still money to go around. Call them tomorrow, for sure.

also, something i might add, when i registered to get my ucla login, like many here i registered before i was accepted, but didn’t push the “new student” option
i clicked on the last option…so, i had to fix that , which i did…could it be that my financial aid got mixed up, meaning that i’m under 2 accounts or something…thx

so, does anyone else NOT have access to how much their are getting from UCLA financial aid?

they told me i have to send a 2009-2010 dependetn verification form? did anyone else have to do this?

what’s the deal here?

I have the same exact problem. I should be receiving around $5000 but I am unable to access this information. I also don’t know if this has anything to do with my UCLA scholarships. I can see my scholarship money on my ePAL, but still no access to my aid award. I have almost $8000 in scholarships from UCLA. Does anyone know if the financial aid award is recalculated or adjusted after getting scholarships? Does the aid actually lesson when receiving scholarships? If this is the case, I will be ****ed. hard work for nothing. how depressing.

so, ladyk_ , did you submit the form they have requested, the “2009-2010 dependetn verification form”?

btw, how can i see my scholarships?? epal? can u post the link to that…appreciate it

ccforumaq,

You can view your ePAL here: https://i4w.ais.ucla.edu/ils/login.aspx?izAppID=edu.ucla.fao.myfao</a></p>

However, if you are missing documents and have not sent them in, you won’t be able to see your awards until you do.

You can find document forms here: [UCLA Financial Aid Office - Forms | Petitions | Verification Forms](http://www.fao.ucla.edu/forms.html)

I was one of the selected to mail in both my parents and my own tax returns and still cannot see my financial aid awards. I called their office last week and the guy said to just wait – they have their current student bodies profiles to update as well. It should be done by mid-May. Thus, in the meantime… try not to frantic yourself even more. By procedure, your ePAL should show by June 1st.

no but you see here’s the thing. they said they received my fafsa, but that they need something extra from me, the form…which i will fill out…but i was like how come many others did not have to fill this out? is it because they want to check more prior to giving a large sum of money?

it’s just odd to me that my financial aid is not up yet when others have it up?

i still can’t see my aid either… :(

I can’t see it either. The guy just told me to send the form. Sigh… Anyway I just decided to go to Cal so that doesn’t bother me any more. lol

Hey guys,
I just checked my “Financial Document Tracking” on URSA, and I was wondering where I can fill out and submit the “VERFH?”
Also, the website states to send in “Student’s Tax Return Required.” I have no idea what this is or haven’t filled out any tax forms due to the fact that I haven’t been asked to do so.
I would greatly appreciate it, if someone could reply back.
Thanks!

ccforumaq,

I also did my FAFSA. And like I said before, on the financial aid documents tracking, it said to send copies of my tax returns and the verification forms. Random students are selected to have their verification forms sent in. Surprise surprise, just like me… you’re one of them. It’s not because they are going to give you more money – I’m sure of that because I’ll probably get 3k only due to my EFC. Really, it’s just random selection.

It’s peak season for the financial aid office. Since we were selected to fill out verification forms, it takes longer to calculate our summary. Remember, they also have thousands of current students who also filled out their FAFSA for financial aid. Just wait. You can call the office to complain and they will also tell you to just wait.

what is ePAL?
i logged into myfao and it says i’ve submitted all my forms but i can’t see my financial aid awarddd.

ucrucla,

Just wait. UCLA is behind with financial aid. Those who can’t see their awards will be able to soon.

ePAL is your Provisional Award Letters, which you cannot see until you can see your eFAN.

could anyone explain what eFAN is??

i feel so cluelesss

eFAN… Electronic Financial Aid Notification

Summary of your financial aid status.

i can see my eFAN, but not my ePAL. i guess i just have to wait?

i emailed UCLA and they said that they’ll be sending out the notice in early June.

i’ve been calling them about my aid and she gave it to me over the phone today… she said my letter should be online in the next few days.
