@mmsiphone what do you mean by GOLD?

its the UCSB registration website, me and allfields are both from UCSB

ohh k thanks

If you get housing through UCLA does that mean the grants will apply to that housing?

@mmsiphone. That’s what I was thinking. I made an appointment.

@imnotfreud
if you complete the calgrant app, and verify your GPA and get covered by Calgrant and Blue and Gold (via calgrant) then you might get something close to what i get. and that is 23K is grants and the ability to borrow 7k in low interest FED loans. we are so lucky! good work getting your calgrant app in now.

i have a zero EFC, so you might get a little less. but FED loans for the last two years of Undergraduate school goes up to 12,500 dollars per year, so you should be fine. cheers.

damn i didn’t get cal grant, any way to get it still?

@kitty you get uc grants instead to cover what you would’ve gotten from cal grant. B&G ftw. Btw is anyone’s cal grant finished processing yet?

but there are people who are getting 23, i only get 20 that extra 3 can help!

cal grant max is like 12k. All of my awards gave me about 12k in estimated cal grant, 5500 for pell grant, and maybe a 1-2k UC grant. All of the other stuff was loans

Miss UCKittychen, that extra 3 a year isn’t really going to matter all that much. Instead of a loan for 7, you just take out a loan for 10. I may end up doing the same thing.

You guys sure are lucky
I get to pay for everything; and all I get is a 2500 unsub loan…

What are you all doing for housing? I’m thinking on campus first year/semester or whatever just to get to know some people (as I’m from Fresno).

@pavin - want to live in an apartment…kinda been looking on craigslist for people needing a roomie. there’s also a site thru ucla housing where u can look for one.

i highly advise each of us try to look for a roommate here first, with a very small questionnaire.

just saying…

living on the off campus housing is only 500 a month…

@Citizen: Hell yes. I think i’ve seen the off campus housing apt. While socially I’m sure it’d be a tad more restricting I really dont care as in 2 years I could be across the country or in a completely different part of the state…

$500 a month sounds tits… I also can cook like a boss lol

link to 500 a month housing…

You share a studio/Loft w/ 3 people. The margan apartments.

Where can I search for roomates? I would like people in my field for studying purposes. Art History/Archaeology/Anthro

Links would be fantastic…

A questionarre would be great, honestly we all sort of have a general idea/feel for each other. Maybe not habits but at least ideals
