Ucla Housing?!

haha thats funny. uhm yeah am I really going to have to live on campus again for my third year. Not fun and not looking forward to it although I am looking forward to attending UCLA!

ck = chick?

This is the order of preferance I put on my housing application...

Residential Plaza > Residence Halls > University owned off-campus Apartments.

We'll see how it goes I guess...

lol! you thought i was a guy mojo?? no wonder you've been mean to me :( hahaha. you're a guy i assume, correct? the ck stands for my first and middle names (:

apendlet, what sorority are you in? do you know if it's good at ucla? im a chi omega...i still need to ask my friends how its rep is at la haha.

Hey apendlet.. why aren't you looking forward to on campus housing? Also, which plaza do you recommend? WIll there be upper classmen living in these plazas as well or is it mostly underclassmen?

I am most likely going to live at the university owned apartments. I need my kitchen! I also need to find a roommate :(

I'm clean, nice, calm! I am not loud either and I avoid trouble at all costs!

Socializing-wise, it won't be so bad at the university apartments, would it?

^Hm... I'm looking for a roommate too. Why not just count on the University to assign you a random one?

The foreman can live on. We had one in my dorm @ ASU...just gotta keep it hidden :)

EDIT: I'm going random roomate to. How bad can it be? I plan on doing the whole fraternity thing as well so maybe move out after a quarter maybe stay there the whole year who knows??

ha I'm not looking forward to campus housing because I have already done it for the past two years here at UCSD! That's ok though, I'm sure I can deal if that's the price I have to pay for going to UCLA. It might even be fun. I have no idea which housing is best for transfer students. I should probably ask my friend who goes there.......Yeah I'll get on that. I am actually in Kappa Kappa Gamma and I already inquired into housing there. It's looking pretty slim to none. I hear that Chi Omega is good at UCLA so I wouldn't worry.

i am going to a school where I know nobody, so I am going to live on campus, and make friends.. it would be dumb for me to live by myself, and just be a commuter.

^wow..i hate making new friends.

if i go to ucla i think i'll commute from the homeless tents if i decide to become a really really extreme case of a miser.

Depends on you really. Are you the proactive or passive type? Commuters can still make their way into the social crowds with greek life, parties, and other relevant events.

Sauron, don't you know? The real urban homeless don't have tents and live in boxes. Tents are a luxury for people living in the country-side! Tents are for bums who have more money and can afford to live in the subburbs!

But yeah, when you get to UCLA make sure you move into a good community where you can make friends. Scout around the streets and find a community that suits you. Try to find a friendly alleyway where you can make friends who will share food and drop you tips on where to beg for profitable returns. It's best to move someplace that has a leader, that way you can organize your patronoge parades around the city without overly saturating a shopping district or encrouching on another group's territory.

It's also important to make friends with simular interests. If you're not into the drinking scene then you should avoid those groups, but on the other hand, if you enjoy dancing and chanting loudly around an open fire then you should scout out those people at night. Just make sure that you can tolerate the type of music they're singing. If you have any questions, ask me for more advice, or just scratch questions into fences on the street bulletins and pay attention to the replies that the passing worldly travellers provide.

charizard, to be honest and in all seriousness, i think u gave a great advice there!!! i always wanted to be unique, to stand out. this ought to do the trick. but then, i like the typical Artist the Freak success story living off bread crumbs in a tiny paris flat. this ultimate romance baby. many americans think surfing and being a cowboy is cool, but version is GREAT: starving genius in rags who collects african carvings, lives in the slums among the hopeless and then on some days dresses in dark suite, shaves nicely and combs hair, etc. to speak as guest lecturer in berkeley, princeton, la sornbonne or cambridge. driving ferrari with some bach, vivaldi or bocelli on. then back to being the romantic hero...

(inspired by experiences of picasso, dali and many modern artists in paris)

charizard, i bet u're famous in this forum being so bizzare and nonsensical. i envy u man.....in fact, i'm gonna try to bring u down...yes. i'm going to usurp the throne of Prince of Art.

anyone taking summer courses at UCLA going to live on campus? Roomates???
I know for fall you can attempt to pick roomates, not sure for summer though, I am going to apply today or tomorrow so let me know!

It is impossible to usurp the throne of the Prince of Art. Although many have tried, he has remained the sovergn ruler of his territory since....I don't know when!

west nile I'm gonna be doing sesh C and living on campus...do you know how many credits we can take?

not sure but its only a month bro, why not take something in session A?
