any one plan to live in off campus apartment which run by UCLA??

Patzz, I am planning on living on the university owned apartments. I am still contemplating on that though. Or perhaps the private owned off-campus apartments.

I went to UCLA to check out the housing, and the dorms are REALLY SMALL.
its just a room with 2 bunk beds, one has a desk under it. and 2 more desks next to the beds. and how do you decide what to watch on tv? also what about sex? both with a partner and without... i seriously cant understand how anyone can sleep with 2 other guys like right next to you everyday for a year. maybe its not that bad, id really some first hand account of the experience.

Does anyone have any experience with the "univerisity owned" apartments?
It seems likely youd have to share a bedroom with up to 3 other guys, thats what transfers would most likely get.

Im having trouble choosing preferences, apartments would actually give you space and SOME measure of privacy BUT youd have to deal with sharing a home with 3 strangers. and youd have to worry about getting food, which wouldnt happen with a dorm.

i'm living on campus. where do most second years live? i'm really a sophomore with junior standing. anyone?

drizzle, I preferenced suites/plaza cuz it looked like you would get more room. If you get normal dorm, throw a TV up on the corner of your desk or just buy a small table to put it on. As for sex just throw the hat on the door...any respectable roomate will find somewhere else to sleep that night!!

just do what i did my freshmen year. lay a clean towel and have sex on the bathroom floor in the suites. and i pulled it off with a threesome.

orly? ;)

Say does UCLA let you sleep on the roof of the dorms?

does suites/plazz offer single room? not living with another guy in the room......

thxx

I think some of the plazas have singles, but I don't know how hard it is to get them.

As far as the space thing, suites aren't too bad. Neither are plazas, but ya the halls suck. There's pretty much no space in the rooms in the halls.

So the on-campus housing contract is for a year right? So if after a few months you really hate dorm life, can you opt to move out?

Has anybody tried doing that before? Just wanna know what kind of procedures and the penalties you have to go through should that ever happen.

So all I'm hearing is the WORST dorms or close to worst.

can someone LIST the most preferable dorms?
or do transfer students get left out in the cold and not even get to expect something good :(
