UCLA is split into two campuses.

If I attend UCLA I will be in the South Campus, because I'll be studying mathematics.

I was wondering, how far apart are the north and south campuses because I don't want to be/feel to isolated from those in the north campus who study the arts and social sciences.

I also heard that all of the more attractive girls are in the north campus, so I wouldn't want to be missing out on that.

Regards

then maybe you should change your major

Yea theres a huge wall in between the two campuses and they only let you through if you can prove you’re a north campus major, so I guess you should probably not attend. They even have different drinking fountains/bathrooms in the dorms for north/south campus majors, I don’t think its legal but they still do it anyways.

It gets tricky for double majors like physics and art history since as #3 says there are drinking fountains and bathrooms that are “no north campus allowed” and “no south campus allowed” in the dorms.

Though seriously, you can go from Boelter Hall (middle of South Campus) to Dodd (a little into north campus) in like 10 minutes at a slow walk.

One time I peeked over the wall, north campus was sooo beautiful! Then I got tazed :(

I went to study at the sculpture garden during finals week just because I was sick of being in the library.

That place is a strictly productivity-free zone. If you’re not napping, smoking, or lollygagging you really shouldnt be there.

this is the funniest thing ive seen on here. There is no wall. plus, you have to take GE class, most of them are in North campus

actually, there is a wall

it looks like this:
http://■■■■■■■.com/yzrwbpx

The only time I’ve seen north campus was at the campus tour. After I declared my south campus major it’s like it doesn’t exist anymore.

cool story bro

This is so funny. The campus is not separated at all. It’s true that most science/math classes might be in so. campus and most humanities are north but as someone said you have to take GE courses, perhaps English, History, Political Science, etc. so you will be taking some classes on the north end of campus. Everyone goes to the basketball games, bookstore, etc. so you are not isolated on so. campus just because the majority of your classes are held in certain buildings.

Engineer friend: You know why I’m saving all my GEs for later?
Me: Why?
Engineer friend: In case I break up with my girlfriend, I will have GEs to take so I can meet the hot girls in North Campus.

Clever huh? lol

yeah north campus chicks are more attractive…

anyways, you shouldn’t feel isolated from north campus students… I see/talk to them all the time on the hill… obviously it’ll be rare to have a north campus student in your major courses but heyyy, some south campus girls are cute and interesting

yea everything is prettier on the north end of campus – buildings, women, men, . . . :X at least you guys will make money tho (or have a higher chance of making money)

^ not everything

schnide-hahaha made me laugh:)

@ jiceo1: i thought engineers don’t have the flexibility to take GE’s?

engineers are required to take 5 GE’s

@TeRRaNoXiC: I wish it were that way…
