I applied for the fall 2020 term as an undergraduate with nursing as my first choice major, which I have to complete and submit a supplemental application for. However, I’m wondering what would happen if I just don’t do the supplemental application at all. Could I get into UCLA (hypothetically speaking) still, just under my alternate major (if I get accepted at all), or would I get rejected altogether for not submitting the supplemental application like I was supposed to?
The reason I’m considering not doing this application is because I don’t think I’ll be getting in at all. I’ve seen the stats, the extracurriculars, the admitted profiles, and the acceptance rates, and I admit that I’m hardly up to par at all considered to the others, both those accepted and the likely contenders. My GPA is high, but my SAT is only 1250. This is my first official score, and I’m retaking it this Saturday for the second and last time but I doubt that I’ll make that drastic magic improvement. I haven’t done any job shadowing or exhibited outstanding leadership in my few acknowledgeable extracurriculars. I’ve only just become interested in becoming a nurse this past year and a half or so, so I don’t have that much background under my belt to show colleges my interest in nursing. I also don’t want to bother my teachers to write a letter of recommendation for nothing at all, because I’d be wasting their time and effort. And I believe it’s pretty much all too late and pretty much impossible (I-M-P-O-S-S-I-B-L-E) to be changing my first choice major. I don’t know why I ever thought I’d actually have a shot at getting in, for both UCLA and UCLA’s nursing major. And UC Irvine, too. I applied as a nursing major there also. Yet again severely doubting my capabilities. [End of pointless rant of self-loathing.]
So yeah. ‘-’ There’s my context…
Back to the point: What would happen if I didn’t submit the nursing major supplemental application for UCLA?
