Because UCLA doesnt want randoms showig up? jk…all I know is the date is April 17th and I got the call to confirm tonight!!! The guy said to just pass all my classes with a B or better and finish whatever GE i’m missing(one english class or so)…■■■■ i am beyond stoaked…

bjorn…yes i go there, we rock! =p. UCLA is better than all those schools anyway(the ones you didnt hear from)! jk…i wanted to go to sciarc, sooo bad, for the longest…but UCLA just steals the cake. Besides, I plan on a masters someday, so a four year degree isnt a bad thing to me. I applied to CAL but I KNOW i wont get in, besides LA is my first choice. I was going to apply to Woodbury as a safety but not anymore =D

chesser…an invitation is ALWAYS a good sign, since anyone from the definite group of denials wouldnt be invited. There would be no purpose taunting them like that. As far as GPA’s factoring in, I’m not sure at all how that comes into play. All I know is for the art and arch program, your portfolio is ultimately the most heavily weighted factor. Everything else is supplemental. I am just guessing on this, but I would think that for transfers, besides meeting the minimum academic requirements, your essays and history really play an important role.

^^^^ so cool! you asked if it’s a definite yes? when i asked like last week, he wouldn’t spill, he just said he legally couldn’t say yes, but it’s good news. SWEET!

yes, he basically said i have been admitted and the only thing that could screw it up would be to not pass my classes! whoo hoo!!! I guess the Art and Arch Dept. is the first to spill their awesome news…Anyone else get a call?

cinamint, I along with the three others received the same call as well! We got the people (the students) to reveal more info than they should have! Oh I also had to call head of the department because I was worried I wouldn’t have enough transferable units and about finishing IGETC. Well turns out I registered for 9 more semester units at another community college to ensure I would have 60 by end of Spring. She also told me I could finish IGETC in the summer! Wooo Hell, here we come!

I also emailed general admissions about my changes. I wasn’t sure if it would be too late or not.

DO YOU THINK attending an event like this would heighten ones chances of getting in, by perhaps networking, and what not?? Because I got a very similar letter from the college I applied to at Berkeley!!! I am so thrilled :D

But what does everyone think about the whole attending/networking to heighten ones chances thing?

@ I love Cal I think if you just got the invitation to an event to something like this you should be thrilled, that is better than anything as a sign that you’re getting in. I mean, why would the school waste their time/resources to have you attend when you aren’t going to be accepted?

sorry for the late response, after i made reservations for the open house i never got an email about where and when it is… i called up the office and told me they would email me once the reservations were made… is it at the Glorya Kaufman Hall? I know check-in starta @ 9am…
