I'm deciding between UCLA, Berkeley, and kinda-sorta Northwestern, and my major will be biology focusing on a pre-med path.

Does UCLA's premed program live up to its reputation of one of the top in the nation?

Is it true Berkeley is more engineering-oriented, and better at the physical sciences than the life sciences?

Opinions? :)

both are kind of the same when it comes to pre-med.

Although UCLA ranks a bit higher for premed programs, they are pretty much on the same field. But UCLA is a little bit more competitive in terms of premed.
What matters the most, I think, is not where you go, but instead what you can do. Employers value your experiences, your skills, and your accomplishments in college over everything else. So, if in the 4 years at Cal, you are able to get top notch grades and due to less competition (for premed - compared to UCLA) are able to engage in more career-oriented pursuits, you may be in a better position than you would have been at UCLA, or Northwestern (which has a very good premed program - and along with it - more competitive).
So my point is, it doesn’t matter where you go, it matters what you do. If you think you can excel more at a less-competitive or less prestigious college for your major, and that you can use your time to pursue internships, jobs, or simply explore your talents/passions, then go to that college.

Just toss a coin. plz
