My decision has come down to these two schools. I am planning to major in physics and potentially double major in business, but I'm not sure yet. I'm from California and am wondering about how good of an education I would get at each of these schools and what the social life is like at each of them. I'd really appreciate any input and im stoked for wherever i end up going so thanks haha

im in the same boat as you!! these are my top two choices and im really torn…while my major is different, communications, i am looking to minor in business. what have you decided on?!

Similar situation! But majoring in biology…what are your swaying factors?

Why pay 40k more to go to BC, a school which is lower ranked and will provide a less comprehensive college experience?

the the thing that is pushing me more towards BC is the communication major is a bit better at that school because its not something you apply for your sophomore year. however, ucla is also really appealing for the weather and im kind of interested in joining a sorority which BC doesnt offer!! aaaaaahhhh im really stumped but its looking like im leaning more and more towards BC

UCLA! Westwood is very fun and the campus is very lively even on weekends and break

I live in Massachusetts and my son got into both schools. It depends on what you are looking for. BC is smaller with more of a family atmosphere. It is not very diverse at all-white, preppy, wealthy. The weather sucks. Boston is a fun city, but so is LA. My son is going to Miami, because he is interested in Marine Science, and Miami has one of the two best programs in the country, and it’s a fun place.

I’m currently a third year Communication major and while UCLA isn’t known for their communication program exactly (as we are primarily a research university), I would say the major is pretty darn good. The fact that you have to apply, which is based mostly on your GPA and prereqs taken, is actually a beneficial thing because my classmates for the most part are very driven. The great thing about UCLA as a comm major is that you’re in LA so you have access to a LOT of internships in many fields. Many of my friends are constantly interning, be it entertainment industry, PR, marketing, consulting, etc. It’s pretty easy to network here and meet people who could give you beneficial information later. Yes, business/accounting recruiting still happens here even without a formal purely business major (the closest is Business Econ); I have multiple friends who are going into very secure summer internships with PwC, Deloitte, and the like. The weather’s fantastic, the social scene is great, it’s never boring… I could go on and on. If you have any questions about comm feel free to ask!
