I seriously can't decide. I was at Bruin Day last Saturday and loved UCLA a lot, but I also really like Cal, and the Regents' scholarship only increases the attractiveness of Cal's offer. (I visited Cal two years ago and will be visiting again this weekend.)

I will be majoring in Ecological Biology at UCLA (though I probably will change that) and Integrative Biology at Cal. I'll be pre-med.

I would really appreciate your opinion on which school I should choose, and reasons why. Please avoid stereotypes. Thanks!

Provided you like the campus at Cal, go with Regents. Believe it offers $2500/year, priority enrollment, guaranteed housing, your own advisor.

I think academics are on par both places (Cal may have the edge). I have seen people here argue that premed is tough at Cal but depends post to post. If you got Regents, meaning you probably fall in the top candidates, you should be fine academically. Just visit and make the decision.

I’m making this decision as well and I just figured (from personal anecdotes) that I would be happier in UCLA. I just love the campus and that was a big factor in my decision. The edge for Cal over UCLA in academics can be overlooked, I think.

Good luck!

Fall2016parent, Regents does provide those benefits. I have heard the same thing about premed at Cal; hopefully the fact that I got Regents means that I will do okay.

Jaysunlin, I did really like UCLA’s campus and atmosphere also, but I’ll wait until I experience Cal this weekend before I decide. Good luck to you too!

Thanks for your advice!
