That's a very respectful school. What's your major.. WHere are you transfering???

Highschoolda - looks like you're going to have a very busy semester! :) But just keep your eyes on the prize and I'm sure you'll do spectacularly! Congrats on the pharm gig; that would look stellar on your ECs, wouldn't it? :) So you have your heart set on UCLA? And what major exactly were you going to apply to?

Thanks. It's pretty ironic. In HS, i had zero EC. I am not even exaggurating.

Now, i have somewhat decent stuff. Job, Volunteer, 2 CLubs.

I am taking my bio classes at UCLA extension, so yeah it my dream to go there b/c i live to close to it and don't want to take loans for moving.

I am applying as Geology/Paleobiology major.

haybaxt, thanks for the comment =).

Ummm, my major when transferring is probably going to be either Engineering Physics or Mechanical Engineering (since I want to double major and it would be extremely hard to get one of those as a double after being admitted, usually you have to transfer and be admitted to it in the first place), but I will double (I think) in Physics as my main major (for PhD) and the one of the two above as double. I'm aiming for something like UCB, Stanford, or Caltech. I tried for Caltech right out of high school but was rejected with the least care, I'm sure. This is my second chance.

What about you?

What would be the possible alternative major for Pol S.???

International Relations???

Electrical engineering. j/k

UCLA does not have International Relations. What to do in that case??

check which major(s) match the prereqs that u have....

Hay, are you sure UCLA doesn't have International Relations? I'm pretty sure it's under the Political Science major with an emphasis in Int'l Relations. I hope so since I plan to major in it! :)

UCLA does not offer a dedicated IR major, but IR is a concentration offered in the political science community. I should know, it was my concentration until my last quarter when I realized I didn't take any IR classes...(comparative it was!)

Nonetheless, your degree will be in political science with blah blah blah about IR. Don't sweat it though, it's not like poli sci is the most heavily impacted major at the school. A good alternative to poli sci is econ or sociology because both allow you to explore political concepts with a scientific bias.
