<p>They used to... I don't know if they still do. I guess they got so many appeals, that they just started to use those as the waitlist.</p>

UCLA only rejects 1600 students from this cc board man. Me and my amigos are the new trend of bruins. My white friend who got a 1580 sat i got rejected man. She cried to me for forever on the phone and she was like the perfect person. I would give up my spot at ucla for her, except I have a full ride there and I cant afford to go to college otherwise. So sorry, so sad.</p>

<p>krazykamikaze: she was not valedictorian. She got a 1030, and she has a full ride for all 4 years and even for graduate school. She got so many scholarships in fact that the fin aid office had to take away her cal grant this quarter because she was getting overpaid to the point where she had about 3000$ extra left over last quarter. </p>
<p>The main scholarship she got was the Gates millenium scholarship which is mostly geared toward Mexians and other underrpressented minorities. </p>
<p>And no, I'm not smoking anything. This is all true, and if you come to UCLA next year you can meet her and she can tell you herself.</p>

<p>Lot of you had an impressive academic/EC profile and got rejected. Maybe it has to do with the major...Engineering major selection process is highly competitive. I am guessing, the people with high stats applied for competitive majors. Lot of my friends put undecided and got in.</p>

<p>Wow, you've got to be kidding me. A Gates Millennium Scholar with those scores? I should have applied for it, but then again, I'm Asian so the competition is probably more fierce. </p>
<p>I applied UNDECLARED and got in. I'm still waiting on Stanford, however. Has anyone been able to access their ePAL or any other form of financial aid notification from UCLA? I just got my Cal Grant today.</p>

<p>whoever is talking about low sat scores getting accepted, ucla also rejected a valedictorian with a low sat score who had to overcome a lot of hardships too (last year), so theres somewhat of a balance here.</p>
<p>Doesn't that just add more to the randomosity of UCLA admissions, but then again, the random excuse is probably used by people who got rejected and are just bitter and would rather claim that UCLA is random in terms of its admissions. I guess it's random in the fact that all 4 readers have to agree. If even one doesn't accept, then you're rejected. Maybe it's because one facet of your application didn't quite appeal to one of the readers or maybe they were in a hurry while taking a dump and reading your application and didn't bother to carefully consider it. People are strange.</p>
