Can someone give me an example of what they wrote?

I got a supplemental thing from Berkeley, but not ULCA : (

i just wrote my response...i have the stylistic and the more forward versions of the same thing...I do not know which to submit =/

is it against CC policy to post what I have written for your review?
or would it be just stupid if someone else decided they wanted to use it?

I'm involved in the Environmental club as the vice president, but honestly, we didn't really do much. That's about all i'm involved in throughout the whole highschool year. Cross Country and Track I was in for 2 years, but an injury stopped me from moving to the top, so i quit entering junior year.

Should I just not answer it? Or should I do the piano thing, and then write about parent's divorce affecting me in some way? Although that really didn't affect me in any noticeable way whatsoever.

I'm sure somebody has already asked this (and I apologize, im just a little lazy/ short of time right now haha) but when does UCLA/UC Berkeley stop sending out these supplemental questionnares? Basically, if I havent gotten one at this point, is it safe to assume I won't be getting one?

You could talk about one of those. The Track subject looks the most promising, honestly. Did you like track? You implied that you were interested in continuing, so maybe talk about your place in the program and how you're hopes were dashed when you got your injury. That seems like a promising place to start with an essay.

I'm not sure whether I'd have a lot to talk about there. The piano thing is bad then, since I've already written about it in my personal statement? Deadline is friday 11:59, so I'll submit either today or tomorrow after a few more tips from you guys.
Also, I'm still stuck on the socioeconomic issue stopping me from achieving.

Ya, I wouldn't go with the piano thing since you already talked about it.

You said you moved a lot? Did that affect your learning?

correct me if I'm wrong but I think the deadline passed on the 10th.

Deadlines are different depending on when you receive the letter.

I've decided to go with the story about how I was turned arrogant due to particpating in a progrma called PACE which allows a student to go to cal state LA during the seventh grade summer. Having gotten an A and perfect on every test without trying, this continued on until freshman year highschool, where I was hit with a 3.5 gpa and thus decided to change my way from then on. I elaborate more on everything in the essay though, but is that good for the question, "Please describe any special circumstances that you would like us to consider that may have affected your ability to achieve academically. This may include personal circumstances, family experiences, and opportunities that were or were not available at your school or home. If you participated in an educational preparation program (i.e, EAOP, Talent Search, Upward Bound, PUENTE, etc.) please describe your level of involvement and how each program was beneficial to you." ?

I felt like I would hit a dead end after only 200 words were I to go to with the divorce issue, and this is probably quite different from the many that they will read, a transformation from arrogance to humility. I'm pretty sure tons of people have divorces.

I'll also whip something up about how i continue to run even after the injury, but just casually in order to maintain health due to my love of running or something. That sounds good right?

the deadline was extended till the 15th...TOMORROW. on my person statement about a talent i wrote briefly about gymnastics (my 2nd essay was much larger) should i continue with that?

If those of you who got the supplemental app don't mind, could you post your stats so we know what a "borderline" applicant is, such as your SAT/ACT Scores, UC GPA, Extra Curriculars, ELC? Thanks!

I didn't get anything like this. Should I be worried?

If you choose to be.

I also got the supplemental request from UCLA, not UCB though :(
My stats:
UC GPA 4.1
SAT 2030

My UC GPA has been a 4.0 exactly, although with senior grades it should have gone up a bit. I have a 2210 as my highest one sitting SAT, and a 32 ACT.

i got a supp. but im not gonna report my sat. just know that is low.
GPa: 4.1

but Im a california state speech and debate champion
invisible children national hero
and a urm with pretty good essays.

If you guys and gals don't mind, what were your SAT II scores and were you ELC?

I know I probably shouldn't have even gotten a supplemental (with my stats) because I never expected to hear from LA at all.

GPA 3.47
Sat Score: 2050
SAT 2: 2C 700, US 680
and not ELC

extra curriculars: just the normal volunteering, sports and stuff. nothing out of the blue or extraordinary.

So I'm pretty sure I won't get into LA though I was borderline.
