UCLA Schedule of Classes: Fall 2010

I read on one of the academic department's websites that the new schedule of classes comes out 6/7/2010, but I can't remember which one. Can anyone confirm that it does come out tomorrow?

Check this:

So in about 20 hours it will be on http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule/schedulehome.aspx</a></p>

Oh sweet! I’m glad they’re up so I can start planning my classes!

Fall 2010 and Tentative Winter and Spring 2011 are out now.

Time to plan my major.

[Schedule of Classes Home Page](http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule/schedulehome.aspx)

damn, i’m suppose to be writing a research paper for my international relations class. but instead, i’ve been looking at the schedule for the past hour!
that paper’s due at 11 :(

Right there with ya! I have to edit three of my final history papers that he gave me an extension on and I can’t concentrate knowing that schedule is up! ;x

Hahaha! I’ve spent hours on that thing. I have my last final in one hour, and then it’s back to schedule perusing.

Good luck yo! Damn, yeah…I should get on these papers, grades are due soon for him, lol.

ahh they have the best/most interesting classes. I’m soooo excited!

What classes / how many units do you guys plan on taking your first quarter?!!

shawna- to be completely honest, I’m totally lost. Other than the requirements for my major i don’t even know what i’m supposed to take. I don’t know how many units either. But I think 18 (give or take a couple) is normal… 3-4 classes is what most of my friends at UCs take

Taking four classes! Depending on the courses, somewhere between 16-20 units. I just don’t know whether I should take one or two fluff courses that I’m interested in or just straight up courses required for my major. Probably the former, but I don’t want to waste time either.

I’m taking 16 units.

For L&S:
To graduate, you need 180 quarter units. 60 of these must be upper division. You also need satisfy all courses for your major. You also need to complete GE, but if you have the IGETC you’re covered. Also required is “American History and Institutions”, which you most likely did in HS. You need a 2.0 to graduate and 35 of the last 45 units need to be taken at UCLA.

The minimum units you can take is 13, which is about 3 classes. UCLA recommends taking 15-17 units a quarter, which is about 4 classes.

[UCLA General Catalog 2009-2010](http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/catalog/catalog09-10-41.htm#1361019608_pgfId-81142)

Basically, complete all your major requirements. Some major requirements will take you over the 180 units, others won’t. If you have extra units to fulfill, you can take anything to meet the 180 total quarter units (60 of which need to be upper division).

rpicton- right, so apart from major/minor requirements there is not structure we need to follow or any required classes right?

ps. thanks for the the info

i thought the minimum units you can take to be considered full time was 12?

No, once you finish you major(/minor) requirements you can take whatever you can enroll in to finish up your remaining units.

1netruesole, you may be right. It’s either 12 or 13. I was just quoting from the official catalog:

http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/catalog/catalog09-10-41.htm#1361019608_pgfId-81142</a></p>

@1netruesole - Yes, which would be three (four unit) classes. But most take four. Five is tough but doable, six is overkill.

oh cool. well actually i’m planning on double minoring so i probably wont have any room to take filler classes
