<p>I just recieved the call today that I am a finalist for the UCLA alumni volunteer/leadership scholarship. Does this mean that I am basically accepted to the school? I really hope so!!!Thanks!</p>

<p>i remember reading on this forum that once a girl got that scholarship, but was rejected by the school. don’t get forget that that organization is seperate from admissions.
hopefully you get in, but also be ready for friday.</p>

<p>You should be in because they normally only interview people after they got in… BUT this year is weird and later than normal so maybe not. :/</p>

<p>No prior email notification, just a call this past Saturday. I think all the interviews are this coming Saturday.</p>

<p>Congrats everyone, good luck on your interviews! The alumni scholarship is soooo worth it!! If you made it to the interview stage you have a really good chance (approx 1/4-1/3) of winning at least the $4k scholarship. :)</p>

<p>Okay I got suckered in. Quick breakdown:</p>

<p>District Level: depending on how many apps there are there’s usually around 6-12 applicants interviewed, 3 of those win a 4K and 1 wins the 4k and goes on to the Area level</p>

<p>Area Level: around 10 applicants interviewed, around 4-5 win at least 6k and go on to State Finals</p>

<p>State Finals: 50ish people compete to increase their 6k awards up to 17.5k. There’s 8k, 10k, 12.5k, 15k, and 17.5k awards</p>
