UCLA Supplemental Questionnaire 2018

I got the supplement too. My scores alone probably would not get me in because I had 33 on ACT and 4.13 UC GPA, (even though my weighted is 4.50 which is pretty annoying), but I’m pretty sure I got it because I’ve won a big regional competition (CA, NV, AZ, HI) and I also talked about a genetic disease I suffer from that hit me pretty hard my first semester of junior year. I imagine the majority of people didn’t put unique things like this and that’s why we’re getting it. Fingers crossed!

In the same boat…

STATS: (probally the worst out of the lot of you guys posting 4.0 GPAs here)

GPA: 3.67 Weighted
SAT: 1220

Good EC’s that lie within area of my focus, Poli Sci and Gov.
Good Recs.
Family Financial Difficulties

I got it too but I am not borderline I am way below the average so I am confused.

GPA: 3.77 Weighted
SAT: 1450

Stats Act Sci Major
Bad EC’s
Personal difficulites

@cocoonutty: Probably received it if you mentioned your Personal difficulties in one of your insight essays.

@Gumbymom do you think everyone who mentioned a severe personal difficulty was sent this or only applicants that they are at least considering?

@cocoonutty: I cannot tell you how many applicants that had personal difficulties got a supplemental review but they would not be sending it to you unless they are considering your application.

http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/augmented-review-policy-2017.pdf

Stats:
UC GPA: around 3.8 weighted
SAT: 1260

Major: Undeclared Social Sci
Decent EC’s
Did mention some personal difficulties
Grades on upward trend

I also wanted to ask: Should we still complete supplemental question #1 about a talent/skill if we did not write about a talent/skill on our original application? Thanks!

does anyone know UCLA still sending out supplement request

@winter04: If the talent/skill question does not pertain to your situation, then I would not answer it. The supplemental questionnaire is very general so answer the prompts that pertain to you.

@Gumbymom Hey, do you have any idea what our chances are from being admitted?

@shanwalk: I cannot give you any idea of your chances of being admitted. It will depend upon what kind of information you submit in the your supplemental. I would just be happy that you are being considered.

Stats:
UC GPA: 4.33
SAT: 1250
Major: Pre-Psychology
EC: Ehh (somewhat decent)
No personal difficulties, so I’m assuming talent or skill (good luck finding out what they’re seeing)
Stable grades (4.0)

—seriously, I have no idea what they’re wanting for me to elaborate

Hi guys! do you know the acceptance rate for those who received the supplementary questions?

so are you all writing this like the personal insight essays or like a straight forward questionnare

@chunklighttuna I honestly have no idea what to do, and this is frustrating me

@chunklighttuna straight up are writing 2 more personal statements in less than a week RIP

I got the supplement thing! I have a 34 ACT and 3.79 UC GPA. Does everyone get the same prompts? Mine were something about a special skill or talent and the second was about special circumstances that could have affected my academics. I had written about both in my UC essays

@happywaffles From everyone that I’ve spoken to, it’s been pretty consistently those two prompts. There’s only four people at my school that received this (to my knowledge). How about you guys?

@chunklighttuna This is our opportunity to be completely unfiltered and genuine so that they can see that they truly want us at UCLA. I’m sure whatever format you can do that best in is going to benefit you the most.

@kaijiee I haven’t been able to find that stat anywhere and I really want to know my chances too.
