Hey everyone, I just went on the TAP Conference yesterday! It was nice! I just thought I hear some other reactions/thoughts for others that went.....also if you have a question specifically for UCLA..post them here.

Hi, I was also at the TAP coneference too!
I am a Chemistry major (not impacted), I have all the REQUIRED pre-reqs to transfer completed.
I was wondering if UCLA looks first at how many pre-reqs you have completed and then looks at your GPA second or vice-versa?
Right now I am wondering if i should drop my physics class and take it in the spring for a better grade, beacuse right now I am going to end up with a C in physics. So my question is should I complete the physics class and have it as a completed pre-req OR drop the physics class and maintain my gpa? Physics is not a REQUIRED pre-req for a chemistry major.

Any advice would be great, Thanks

@collegebrother: There was UCLA app reviewer at the conference, he said that this is roughly the order of the review process:

60 units done

IGETC/General Ed. done

Major prep courses done

GPA

Everything else

If you’re missing or incomplete on any of 1-3 then you’re automatically disqualified and they stop reviewing your application. So to answer your question, they look at how many pre reqs you’ve done, and then your GPA

I was @ the conference too! I attended the Workshop with the UCLA reviewer as well. i thought it was funny how he essentially advertised the fact that there were easier ways to get into UCLA (although its not exactly secretive information!)

overall the atmosphere was quite chaotic. I preferred the stomp conference that I attended last spring. I felt that the general student curiosity and attentiveness was better. I got shoved at least three times entering/exiting Ackerman Hall.

The workshops I attended, however, were quite interesting. The Honors lady was hilarious! She piqued my interest in joining the honors program when I get into UCLA (knock on wood!!)
