UCLA Textbooks

Wsup fellow transfers.. hopefully some of you UCLA students are still lingering around here. I ordered a textbook online for pickup a couple of days ago and still haven't received any word as to the status of my order. How long does it take to have my order ready? Will UCLA notify me as to where I can pick up my textbook?

In a totally unrelated topic. I have received my parking permit and it says "ST 4". This means that I am able to park on Lot 4 of Westwood plaza correct?

Thanks a bunch.

sorry kind of unrelated to your question, but you already know what textbooks you need? did you already pick your classes because the first orientation hasn't even begun yet?

you should probably call the website's store to see what is going on or go to the store with your online order confirmation. i think it should be ready since you are picking it up and not waiting for them to pack and ship it to you.

how do u see the required textbooks for ur class?

O I'm sorry. I should have clarified a bit. I'm taking summer school thus I have access to the enrollment menu on URSA. The menu shows the classes you are enrolled in and a short series of links found within the menu will guide you to the UCLA online store where your textbooks are listed.

I wanted to call but it is (or was) a Sunday and probably will be unable to get in touch with them. This whole process is new to me so I'm a bit confused. There seems to be 3 locations where I can pick up my books Ackerman Union, Obscure Gift Store 1 and Obscure Gift Store 2. I've already ordered a couple of days ago and the status still shows up as "submitted". This is worrying me.. My class starts in 2 days and I'm out 200 bucks for a book that is going to be available who knows when.

there's an information kiosk just right after the charles e young st. (you know what im talking about right?) Basically in front of the central side of campus. Ask them for a sure answer.

oorah87 -- your class starts a little late, eh? I'm at UCLA now and my roommate is having the same issue with the books.

i suggest you call them, they open at 8 AM. they'll be a little busy, first day of school and all.

i would also recommend that you buy your books off of Amazon.com next time, if you can. I saved myself $57 on my books because of amazon!

Yes i second that, buy on amazon or half.com or anywhere else. You can save hundreds of dollars

thanks for the advice guys. I picked up my books today. It was actually my first time visiting UCLA. It's really a beautiful campus.
