Has anyone who applied as a Freshman applicant to UCLA’s Theater, Film & TV (TFT) program for Fall 2015 heard anything new about interviews being set up? Anyone know if interviews are set up only for Transfer applicants and not Freshman applicants? Last year’s posts discussed interviews for only 30 spots being set up and done in March prior to decisions being sent out and that if you don’t get an interview, most likely you would be denied admission.
I really hope that’s not the case. And I’m fairly certain that the program is much larger than just 30 spots as UCLA doesn’t let you actually start working on your major after I think your sophomore year, so it wouldn’t make sense. I think you might be talking about transfers. Not sure, I could be wrong.
I applied as a freshman for production and have not heard anything. I was offered an interview for USC SCA though. I don’t think that UCLA offers interviews for its freshman applicants, but I could be wrong. Either way, we’re going to find out soon, so best of luck to everyone!
Hi !!! I applied as a transfer student for film and television and I have not heard anything back from them! I kinda losing hope

A freshman had her interview in February. I think the transfers are the only ones waiting on interviews.
Well if they already held the Freshman film program interviews back in February, then getting rejected is pretty much expected this Friday. There was no secondary major option when applying for the film program. My D’s chance at attending UCLA would be completely shot for 2015-16. Being a UCLA Alumni myself, I am just in disbelief over this probable outcome.
Freshman interviews were in mid-February…if I’m remembering correctly then about 45 were interviewed out of 1600ish applicants.

Just an update as I just called the TFT Admissions office and asked whether it was true that if you didn’t get an opportunity to interview as a Freshman applicant whether that meant you couldn’t get admitted at this point since decisions were coming out tomorrow. According to the nice gal, she said that it is NOT TRUE. In fact, Freshman interviews are still ongoing for film production applicants. Also that the number of admit spots for Freshmans is separate from the Transfer admit spots. So it’s also NOT TRUE that they are only accepting 30 applicants in total for both Freshman and Transfer applicants. She said they accept anywhere between 25-30 from Freshman applications.
Oh well short-lived hope. My D got denied.
