Hi! I was recently admitted by UCLA as a pre-business econ student and I am looking for the information on intercampus transfers.

First of all, I would like to know if anyone has done this before. I am interested in transferring from UCLA Business Econ to preferably Haas Business School but B.A. Economics is fine....

I've searched on this topic many times already and all of them seem to indicate that intercampus transfer is quite difficult. It is only feasible when one with high GPA has a personal problem that they have to attend the school. However (with all due respect to those students) those examples were mainly students from UCs with lower freshmen admission stats than UCLA. Would I have a higher chance to transfer into Haas being a UCLA student? Of course, I will study really hard and try the best to maintain a high GPA.

If you know anyone that has done it, please give me some information on their reasons of transfer or their GPA.

As for the reason to transfer...... Haas has it's own career service center and it's network is very strong. Also, since I am Asian, the brand value that Berkeley carries surpass UCLA at least in East Asia, which is extremely important for me since I am an international student who will probably return to Asia for jobs.

Please share your experiences or any information on it.

It would be incredibly difficult to transfer into Haas from UCLA. You aren't going to find people on here who have done it, because there must be very very few of them on earth. Transferring to UCB for economics would be considerably easier, but I have to assume you'd need a very high GPA (3.7+).

Do you also know how many people at Haas are students from other UC campus and what was their stats or did they have a really compelling reason for transfer? I read somewhere that it was about 10 people.

When applying for transferring to UCB, do you get to pick first choice Haas, and second choice Econ? I read it somewhere that because Haas hands out B.S. and Econ is B.A., it is impossible to do so. Can anyone please tell me?

I'm finding it extremely difficult to get information on this matter......

My understanding is that you can only apply to one, Haas or to Econ (L&S). Not because one is BS and one BA, but because they are different colleges and different admission processes.

Transferring to Haas from UCLA is not a plan. It is an unreasonable almost impossible dream. Forget about it.

wow Kenf1234, you are very motivational. dude mmmmwu, if you really badly wanna go to berkeley for sure, then i would recommend you to go to a community college then transfer to berkeley,I know this because i'm at uci right now and transferring to another uc is very hard. i will have 3.7 gpa by the time of my application and i'm still scared because i know that nothing is for certain since i'm changing from uc to another uc. But if you like ucla and think that it woiuld be good to go to cal, then just try your best to get above 3.8 and then transfer to cal. ucla to ucb i believe is the hardest because the admission office sees that you are already enrolled at ucla, being one of the best colleges in the nation. i don't really see why you don't like ucla. i would sacrifice my life right now at this moment to be there. i got rejected last year and couldn't stand community college so i am in uci; probably the biggest mistake of my life. all these kids on these forums are from community college and they have gpa of over 3.5 and they think they're all that. try getting above 3.5 at uc and then show off. I'm sorry mmmmwu, if you wanna go to berkeley, it is best to go to community college and transfer to ucb. the amount that you have have to study at ucla to get a 3.5 is approximately the same as 4.0 at community college. It's very simple, at cc you will have a stellar gpa and your chances of getting into ucb are like 100 times better then if you were to transfer from ucla. so i guess, my question is, do you wanna go to ucb that bad? reconsider because ucla is an amazing school. i hope this helped.
