UCLA to CAL for intercampus visitor program

I know it is a bit early to think about, but was anything thinking about doing the visitor program to visit another school.

"If you are a UC undergraduate in good standing, you may attend another University campus for a quarter or a semester if space is available. This way you can take courses that aren't available at your home campus or explore another campus if you are considering transferring."

I wonder how difficult it would be to go 2 berkeley for spring semester or something...anyone else thinking of trying this?

Won’t that be kind of hard to schedule going from UCLA (which is on quarters) to Cal (which is on semesters)?? It would be cool to do, (to any UC) except seems like it would be a pain with trying to figure out housing and all that for just a quarter.

i dont think it would be too bad. since the semester units are worth more u could go to CAL for spring semester. And there are a lot of students who are going abroad and other situations where they need to rent out an apt for a semester

I don’t think transfers would be eligible to go for Spring 2011. Don’t we have to have a year at our original school under our belt? I’ve definitely thought about a semester at Cal for Fall 2011 or Spring 2012.

Could be wrong here, but this doesn’t really seem like its for transfer students. The way I understood it was that you had to spend a full academic year at the UC you were originally admitted to before you can take a class at another campus in the system. I doubt most people who just transferred in are looking to transfer out immediately so that part doesnt apply… but assuming you have junior standing as of now, wouldn’t you want to spend your senior year at UCLA to make sure that you are in line to graduate?
