I want to transfer to ucla for computer science, I have finished my math courses up to calculus 2, can I still transfer and take the rest of the math classes at ucla, or I must have already finished all math classes including linear algebra and more calculus classes. My gpa is 3.6.
UCLA CS is incredibly difficult to get into. If you don’t have pretty much all of your major prep (such as the necessary math courses), it puts you at quite a disadvantage. Most of the people applying somehow have 3.8-4.0 GPAs, so your GPA is just a tad below what it needs to be. My advice is to try and finish those math courses because having all your major prep done will definitely help. I remember one year, only about 6 students were accepted for transfer! The numbers have definitely gone up, but given the impacted nature of UCLA’s CS, you definitely should consider other schools as well just in case. sounds good, what do you think about UC Irvine for computer science?
