what is meant by maintaining grade point average? do they expect equal to or is this based case-by-case?

i was wondering the same thing. anyone out there that can answer this question?

it means dont get Ds and Fs

No, it doesn't mean that. I hope people don't listen to this advice, as they might get their admission revoked if they get all Cs in their last term.

It means maintain your grade point average, or at least don't deviate too much from it. How much "too much" is depends on your major, the more impacted it is, the less you should deviate from your GPA

It means your admissions officer gets leeway in approaching individual cases.

I haven't sumbit SIR to ucla yet becuz of this reason. I'm afraid of going no where this fall. I expect to get 2 C's and 1B in this sem, which will make me from 3.33 to 3.28. :(

that should be fine, .05 is not a significant deviation

shirley...2 C's and 1 B in one semester would mean sub 3.0 GPA for the semester...is this true? If so, I highly reccomend contacting the admissions office to see if this violates your contract. Many UCs require at least a 3.0 in the last semester.

It's ok for UCSD and UCI, cuz they stated the minimun for last sem is 2.0. But I don't know about UCLA. :(

My contract for UCSD and UCI tell me not to get below a 2.8 My BErkeley contract is nothing below 3.0. what major are you in?

biochem at UCLA and UCSD, and bio at UCI. :(I really have trouble choosing schools, as my spring sem isn't finished yet. I'm not sure whether I'll end up 2 B's 1C or 2 C's 1 B.

Ah I see. Well I wish you the best in acing your finals this semester then.

But Sir is due on June 1 st. :(

For UCSD, it's 2.0 minimum semester/quarter gpa and 2.8 minimum cumulative gpa.

For UCLA, it's 2.0 minimum semester/quarter gpa. I'm not sure what the minimum cumulative gpa is.

For UCB, it's 3.0 minimum semester/quarter gpa. I'm not sure what the minimum cumulative gpa is.

In all cases, you must pass each of your classes with at least a C grade. So say, 4 A's and 1 D can actually mean a default on your provisional admission.

It's due in 9 days, :( I don't even have time to join campus tour.

I'm so stressed out...

ee_stu, how do you know it's 2.0 for UCLA?

Because it said so on in my conditions for admission

ee_stu: that's weird...doesn't say **** on mine...

Maintain the grade point average and complete the number of units and the courses you reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates. You must be in good standing at your last institution of attendance.

It's just too vague.
