UCLA transfer student, live on or off campus?

Hello everyone! Sorry if such question have been here before. I just transferred in to ucla and cant decide where to live. Im 21 years old and came in to US only three years ago. I got offered a classical triple in ucla dorm (HED) where all people are freshmens. Is my age and background goign to be a problem in making friends ? what is the best option for me, just to live on or off campus ? Can smb tell me more about leaving on campus and social life.

Your experience in the dorms can be very random, because it depends highly on who your roommates are. I think that in general, it should not be a problem. In my freshman year dorm, we had several transfer students who got along well with the freshmen, however, this depends entirely on who you get paired with.

I think living in the dorms for at least one year is a good experience, and would recommend it. I think it also depends on you as a person. Keep in mind, in a dorm you may be paired up with non-stop partiers, or non-stop studiers, and you have to be prepared for both. In the dorms, you will have less privacy and less freedom, but more opportunities to meet new friends, and life will be somewhat easier (food, resources). Many people make their best friendships living in the dorms, because you are always in such close proximity with so many people, you are bound to get along with some of them.

That’s gonna be a bit weird since Hedrick is almost 100% freshman.
