I have a quick question about UCLA. I've been browsing the forum trying to find out whether or not it is good to finish my last MAJOR division class during the spring semester before i transfer in the fall. Im majoing in business economics so I will need up to calc2 at my community college. I am currently taking trig, and then precalc, and then calc, and finally calc2. Some friends recommend taking calc1 during this summer so i can take calc2 next fall. Even my advisor recommended that, but does it really matter if i take calc2 during the spring? Will it impact my chances compared to someone who finished their major requirements in the fall? Im taking 7 classes this semester and i'm planning to for the next 3 semesters so I will be IGETC and HONORS TAP certified no matter what happens. Has anyone transfered to UCLA biz econ without finishing their major preps or math requirements until the spring?

well....I would say that it was okay as long as you finish the prereqs by summer...but this math, so I don't really know. You should call UCLA.

They really really reallyl want you to finish major prep before Spring, especially something like math.

wow 7 classes, what are you taking? make sure you don't burn out... i'm already having a hard time with ochem, bio, calc, h econ, h history.

Well Kevintech, I'm currently taking english 1a, english 1a add on enrichment class, trigonometry (i really messed up in hs so I'm making up for it now ), earth science honors, earth science lab, ecology, and cultural anthropology.

As you can see, Trig isn't even considered one of the classes for IGETC so I must take trig, precalc, calc1, calc2. My summer next year is going to totally suck because i will be taking an 18 week calculus course in 12 weeks. =/

I'm actually juggling my schedule pretty well. I Only see my girlfriend once a week, but that is the consequence of taking 7 classes i guess
