I applied to both UCLA and UCD under civil engineering. I got the regent's scholarship to UCD (12,000/year plus perks for the honor's programs) and i got a 2500 scholarship to UCLA. I have recently decided that I don't want to do civil engineering and I want to transfer into bioengineering as soon as possible. This would be much harder to do at UCLA seeing as I won't have priority registration and I have to keep a higher GPA in order to switch in. I am torn between the two schools but I know that UCLA will help me get into graduate school easier, while going to Davis would drastically lower the amount of debt I will go into. Also, Davis is ranked higher in biomedical engineering, but much lower that UCLA overall. Do any bioengineers or UCD/UCLA alums have any advice?
