but here’s how I see it. If I work really really hard and study and ace my AP/IB Exams, maybe I’ll be rewarded with a message from UCLA! Just make sure you enjoy the remainder of senior year and one day soon, maybe you’ll be surprised with some really good news!
I have a question, guys.
If you SIR to one school and paid their Housing Application Fees, for me, it’s UCSD, $650. Then if I get off UCLA waitlist, do I get the money back from UCSD?
@AdriannaLubinCai It depends on the school. You can look at the contract you signed when you submitted the housing deposit and it will say their cancellation policy. For UCD it said if you cancel by a certain day you can get a refund so UCSD might be similar.

No, you don’t get that deposit back, but in return you go to a better university!

@catswin I called yesterday and she said decisions are still being made and they’re completely random, on the rolling basis and to just watch your email

Yay that’s good news!! I’m subtly hoping that I’ll get accepted tomorrow cause that’s my birthday hahaha… but if I get accepted at all any time this month I’ll be satisfied. xD But yes, I hope we get the news soon!

@AdriannaLubinCai I’ve also SIR’ed to UCSD. Wouldn’t it make sense to wait until May 31 to submit the Housing Fees? Because it says that there is not priority enrollment based off of this, so you can submit it anytime before May 31st, I think.

So I thought I’d let you guys know: I went to ucla today to see what’s going on with the waitlist. The lady at the counter said that she hasn’t heard of any waitlist acceptance being sent out for letters of science. But she said it’s different for specialty schools like engineering. And she said that the acceptance could roll into July like last year. She said that most likely, we should expect to hear back by the second week of June. So there’s still hope!
