So I got into UCLA for Fall '09, but on my application I said that I would be taking my last pre-req class this summer at a certain college. Well, today the college sent out an e-mail that due to budget cuts they had to cancel the entire summer semester! I need to call UCLA but I have to wait until Monday to find out, I'm just wondering if anybody has any idea or knows of a similar situation that has happened, and the outcome.

whats your major? and whats the prereq?

studio art - part two of art history.

there’s no way you could be penalized for that.
i mean, that’s about as far out of your control as it can be…

I think that is a pretty standard course. You might be able to take a comparable or equivalent course either online from another community college or on campus from a community college nearby. But, definitely call UCLA on Monday. I couldn’t imagine that they would penalize you for something that is so genuinely outside of your control.

I was in the same situation for UC Davis, and they said I needed to find a way to complete the course or be rescinded.

budget cuts are affecting so many students, even classes for fall might be cancelled even though the schedules for most schools are already out! -.-

i think you should just let them know asap~
