UCLA- Where is everybody going to live?

Just wondering how many of those accepted are planning on living on campus vs. off campus. I was thinking about living on campus, but I think living in dorms would be tough for me.

I am gonna live on campus. I think I want to live in the suites or plazas although I dont know the difference.

I think I’m going to live off campus. I went to CSU Chico for a semester in Fall 2007 and lived in the dorms. It wasn’t for me. A big positive is that you do meet a lot of people.

Word of advice: I’m not sure how transfer housing works but if there is an option for a suite with 3 or 4 people sharing a bathroom vs. communal bathrooms and you are unsure which to choose, choose the suite.

On-campus in the HALLS!! i really want reiber hall.

one of the university apartments, or rent a room with other students.

Yeah, I think living off campus somewhere in Westwood is probably what I’ll end up doing. Anyone know when students start renting apartments? I don’t want to wait too long to find a place and then be stuck with an apartment and/or living situation that sucks.

on campus.
res hall.

On campus. Debating on whether I should live in the suites or halls. Hmmm, ;)

on campus… where the parties begin… not… lol… I’ll try to focus… hhehehe :D

On Campus for sure! I don’t really want to get stuck in a triple though they sucked at UCSC so I assume they would be just as bad at UCLA. Can transfer students get suites? Or is it luck of the draw that they get the suites.

De Neve plaza

You guys sound like you know the residences so well.

When are the housing applications due?

I need to start looking into these things so that when the applications are due, I get the pick I want.

i know them so well because ive visited/lived at UCLA so many times before.

Hendrick Hall/Summit is nice and all but it’s hella far away
De Neve is CRAZY nice but i heard there isn’t as big as a social scene there compared to other halls.
Reiber Hall is AWESOME.
Sproul Hall is pretty sick too.
The Suites lack social life as well… people are pretty secluded
Sunset Village is pretty secluded as well despite being in the middle of everything

that’s all i got out of my experiences. feel free to add in.

Off campus. Probably around Westwood. Noooot really a fan of the dorm life.

Definitely off campus. I need lots of space for my 4’10" body frame.

chibi, will reiber hall open up again this fall? last i heard there were renovations.

i still have to decide between berkeley and ucla. but if i do end up going to ucla, i will most definitely live on campus!

it’s still under renovation… :frowning:

but rumors are it might be done for this upcoming fall. we’ll see. (omg, i sound like cheeser, lol)

reiber hall will be completed by spring 2010. just an update for those interested in reiber…

depends on the money I have to pay

but I’m sure that living on the campus is much more expensive

I was trying to apply for housing… do you guys know what they mean by a passport-quality picture ??? just like a portrait or sumthing ??
