I keep on hearing about some kind of special program Merced has with Cal in regards to transfer students (2 years)...can anyone confirm this?(like with an article or link)

Supposedly, if you can maintain a 3.7+GPA at UCM, you are guaranteed admissions into UCB. It was on a contract they send to you if you get rejected from UCB but are well qualified. However, I have yet to see someone successfully do that though.

Yeah I hearing similar things from people who did not get into Cal as a Freshmen but were told of some kind of TAGesque program at Merced…I don’t know… thought it was kind of interesting.

Jeffrey99 - there is an agreement that UC Berkeley has with UC Merced. If you applied to UC Berkeley and were rejected but also accepted to UC Merced. Then they should’ve sent a notification of a contract agreement if you wanted to participate if you were intending to attend UCM. A friend of mine did this contract which is similar to TAG, he wasn’t able to complete it because he thought UCM was going to be a walk in a park. Turns out now he is now ineligible to transfer and he has no choice but to graduate at UCM cause he partied to hard when he was there (caused him to get some academic probation for a GPA below 2.0).

He told me that the requirements were to fulfill all the prereqs and GE courses with nothing lower than a B. Along with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 transferrable and there was no academic forgiveness given for this contract. The contract if fulfilled correctly would guarentee transfer admission into UCB for your desired major.
