UCONN Class of 2020 Decision Thread- for Storrs location

FYI - the “Husky for a Day” registration page just went live today (i think), perhaps yesterday. At any rate, accepted students might want to look into registering for one of the days- there are about 15-20 open days from late March thru end of April. I went a few years ago with my older S and it sealed the deal in making the decision to attend UConn.

Does anyone know how to decline the offer of admission? I will not be attending UCONN so I certainly would like to open my spot to someone on the waiting list.

I think you would go into your login and hit withdraw application. Then I would additionally send a nice email, because you want to be courteous to those who’ve accepted you… You may want to go to grad school there or transfer if something changes in your life at some point, so doing the right thing and not burning bridge is a good thing for life overall… You are a good egg for doing so.

After you login you can go to “student center” and click on “withdraw application” link.

Hey, I was accepted into Storrs business OOS. How do I check if I got offered any scholarship money or got into honors? Thanks.

@jakehunt it will come in the mail

I received my acceptance letter but no scholarship mention. Does that mean no offer or it comes separately?

@jakehunt The letter my S received today had the scholarship mentioned in it.

I got a letter today saying that I was accepted to the School of Business with an $18,000 scholarship!
Still waiting back to hear from a few schools but it’s definitely still an option!
4.4 GPA, 27 ACT, Very strong essay, recommendations, and extracurriculars, ~1,600 hours of CS, OOS

Hey, I just found out I got in. Real Estate and Urban Development under Business major. Out of state.

No GPA cause I’m an IB Diploma Program candidate, but I have a predicted 39-41. Extracurriculars are quite strong. Loads of community service, 2 internships (both of significant durations), started a small non-profit business, online blogs, involvement in photography and theatre. SAT: 2200

I learnt of my admission on the online portal. I’m an American citizen but am currently stationed overseas in Asia, so I don’t expect to receive the paper acceptance letter for another few weeks at least as I am assuming that they sent it via regular shipping. I noticed that the paper letters mention scholarship awards, while the website simply shows you a yes or a no. Has anyone got info regarding scholarships online? If not, is there any way to find out? Dont wanna be waiting for that letter, it might show up too late after I’ve already made my decision.

Thank you!! and @becautious all the best to your son!!

@jakehunt - unfortunately, it would appear that UConn did not offer you a scholarship. The scholarship offer would have come in the letter.

Is 18k a year the highest scholarship?

To everyone who has been accepted, do you have a campus email? I’ve been accepted since the last week of January and still haven’t received a campus email.

Have you paid your deposit already?

My sons friend received $22000 OOS which is the highest I’ve heard so far.

@greenhk yeah I paid my deposit on Feb. 9th.

@ATPT20 are you a freshman or transfer applicant?

@RonnieD I would call admissions in your case. They will understand that you are living out of the country and may get your letter much later. I am sure they will help you figure out if you were offered $ or not to help you make your decision. Good luck! I know IB candidates are highly valued.

has anyone from New Hampshire gotten a physical letter yet?

We received one today and are in Massachusetts.
