@becautious we are in the LA area but are originally from the South Shore She hasn’t officially accepted yet I think due in part to some reservations of being so far away. She is definitely interested in looking into an LLC if she accepts.
@negirl We are SS as well! I hope she goes. Let me know what she decides.
@becautious what a small world! I hope your son hears good news from UCONN. Let’s keep each other posted
@belink hey, I got accepted into the Storrs campus. I used to live in CT as a kid and I knew tons of people that went to UConn… There are a LOT of CT students and many of them do tend to go home for quite a few weekends, but never all of them… Same with kids in most of the tristate/New England area. Besides there are always enough people on campus anyway. I’ve never seen UConn too empty. That being said, it is a quiet campus compared to others a) because its rural and b) because its huge, so everyone is kinda spread out.
Hope that helps
Also QUESTION: any international students here? Because I am currently living in India even though I’m originally from CT and am applying as a US resident… It’d be nice to have someone who’s been out of the US for a while

Congrats @studentedu
@becautious I’m still deciding as I’m waiting on one more school. I think the financial aid will be a big factor in deciding.

Accepted, but to an alternative campus (Stamford), instead of Storrs.
S accepted to Storrs for chemistry. In-state and merit award; brings costs to about $20k, depending on how much tuition actually increases next year (not crossing my fingers, the way the state budget and balance sheet are!).
ACT-35, good grades at competitive HS, Eagle Scout, offered honors college. Hard to argue the value of attending, versus the cost at private institutions.
Haven’t seen too many prospective science majors here.
FYI everyone - financials are starting to be posted online. We have them on D’s account now.
I hope what I’m seeing isn’t the finished product because it’s $0 for any aid at all with a $53k price tag! I’m hoping it’s just an example of a breakdown.
@greenhk Thank you. The portal still says financial aid not available yet…received Honors & scholarship in acceptance letter but I am anxious to see the whole package.
@jakebake were you previously notified of any grants or scholarships directly from Uconn?
