Nothing in the mail today in CT
ill check and update in 1 hour for southern ct
nothing in Fairfield, CT - near the coastline.
ahh i guess u checked for me lol! does anyone still think theyre coming out tonight?
Sounds like they’re not coming in the mail today. Fingers crossed that decisions come out online tonight and letters come tomorrow.
i’m in new haven, my mail doesn’t come until like 2
^ I live in Northern New Haven County— no mail. Hoping for portal update tonight, good luck to everyone!
So I’m going to play the devils advocate and say…the Instagram post never actually said they were mailed…it just implied it…with that being said last year they came out on the 28th on the portal so maybe we are all reading too much into it and we won’t hear until tomorrow via portal/then mail
I really hope I’m wrong but just remember it all is what it is at this point and all the anxiety and worry won’t change anything! Good luck everyone!
i have a question for anyone who does not live in ct, why would you want to go to UCONN, a state school in connecticut of all places?
Hi, at least for me, this school offers my major which my state school does not offer. Not to mention, I am able to get reduced tuition due to the lack of that said major at my state school. UCONN at least for me is not extremely far from my home, but far enough that it works for my family and me.
@heyhowareYou2019 We live in NJ and students want to leave the state to go to college. It’s no different from a student from Massachusetts not wanting to go to UMass. In NJ, the in-state public options for high stat kids are Rutgers, which is absolutely huge, and TCNJ, which is a smaller suburban campus. Many OOS publics provide merit scholarships to high stat students making it comparable to their in-state options. In my D’s case, the cost of UVM, UNH and Delaware are comparable or better than Rutgers. I am assuming it will be the same for UConn for her. From your perspective, why shouldn’t she consider UConn if it is competitively priced?
Our mail just came (MA - west of Boston) and nothing from UConn.
In CT, nothing in mail today. My time hop memory from today showed my daughter finding out 3 years ago today. She is in state and loves UCONN. Many times in state kids take for granted what a great education you get there. Going poor for a college education is ridiculous.
A good article about student fit at the New England state flagship universities:

@heyhowareYou2019 we are in MA and my son attends a huge HS, and wants his college to be significantly larger than the HS, no more than a few hours’ drive away, and a suburban/rural setting with a defined campus. Best fits for that are UMass Amherst (where he already got in) and UConn. UConn is strong in his program of choice, so why NOT UConn even though we are OOS?
@jdcollegedad i’ve never heard ct or UCONN being described in a particularly positive light (although i love both) and the tuition for out of state for most people is much more expensive than in state, so i just wanted to know the thought process behind some out of state people deciding to go to uconn. but i can see where you’re coming from with your answer, thanks!
@heyhowareYou2019 The other factor besides comparable cost after scholarships and fit is the quality of the nursing program. UConn is consistently ranked in the top 50 nursing colleges nationally and top 10 in New England. This is similar to what @BostonMama said about the quality of the program.
@heyhowareYou2019 I get what you are saying…my son loves uconn and we are from ri…with no merit uconn is twice the price as our instate…so not worth paying double the price for us
@heyhowareYou2019 My son applied to U Conn because he hard great things about it. It’s ranked well in some of the coursework he is interested it. It has a campus that he enjoyed. Why not in NY? He did apply to NY schools and got in but some of further away, and a lot of out of state schools give scholarships that almost make it similar to instate tuition. Rutgers, and U Del were very competitive to the NY schools. U Conn was just a good fit for him and we hope competitive in terms of cost.
