UCONN Class of 2023

@beachmama1 Ok, guess not! I know another Beachmama awaiting UCONN admission for her son. Good luck!

@lookslikeitsunivofIL ri is small so we probably know same people…Narragansett here!

So does that put me in the running if I have a 32 ACT and a 33 STEM score?

Thank you. That would make sense. I have a blue dot but I’m not in the top 10% and my school doesn’t rank. However, my SAT is 1450 and I have a fairly high gpa. @beachmama1

Where is this blue dot I keep hearing about??

@jsondik it would be in your financial aid box

By blue dot, do you mean the little blue circle with the “i” that says click to view financial aid?

no, its a dot under the link that says to click here to view financial aid

I’ve had this merit discussion with @beachmama1 and others already in another thread here. My daughter’s HS does not rank, but they do put out a profile sheet that says what range GPA would be what range rank. With that being said, the rep who visited the school and then who we saw again at a college fair, twice said that our daughter’s stats should qualify her for around $15K/year merit (OOS). She’s got about a 3.7 weighted GPA and a 33 ACT (superscore, 32 straight up). Based on the chart though, she’s right around top 35-40%. Maybe they just like our HS and it’s stats+HS, I don’t know.

She does have the blue dot on her status page. I’d be a bit surprised if she doesn’t get a $15K award.

@beachmama1 I’m in CT.

@beachmama1 ha! I’m from RI too, i go to school in wakefield. also the honors merit makes sense. my sat is a 1480

@lexluthor5 it sounds like your daughter may get the 18.5k leadership scholarship or stem scholarship or any of the ones available to OOS students

If I don’t have a blue dot is that an indication that I didn’t get accepted?

It isn’t because my children’s HS doesn’t rank either

@anonymous92701 No, don’t worry, it’s just the scholarship link.

@lexluthor5 makes sense that she would have the blue dot with that ACT score my guess is honors merit

@anonymous92701 - The speculation is that the “blue dot” is an indicator of receiving a merit scholarship. Since none of us sit on the admissions committee, that is all it is at this point, speculation. Hopefully everyone will find out at some point today.

@beachmama1 she’s not going to get honors with that GPA, I don’t think. She’s not gotten honors at similar schools so far. $15K merit would put UCONN right in range with the net COA of those other schools as well.
@nededen I doubt she’ll get more than $15K with her GPA. And she did better in the non-STEM sections of the ACT.
$18.5K would be interesting though. She’s pretty much made up her mind to go elsewhere to a school that came in with a much lower COA, though it’s outside of the northeast.

Any ideas on what time decisions come out?
