Congratulations on your wonderful achievements! What are your SAT scores for just Math and Reading…I am pretty sure (although there are always exceptions) that to be asked to join the Honors program they are looking for around a 1400 combined on those 2 sections.

And by “looking for”, they mean require. If you ask them they’ll deny it but I know lots of students who are smarter than people I know in the honors program, but weren’t accepted because of standardized test scores. Generally they use statistics as much as they can because they get 30,000+ applications a year. Of course it’s possible, but anything below 1400 M+CR really hurts.

Would a student with 1400 M+CR have a chance to get into the honors program? And do they care about GPA as much, or less so?

GPA around 3.4 unweighted but lots of honors and AP courses.

If you were invited to the honors program you likely would have found out by now. My friend and I were both invited and we received our acceptance letters with the invitation to the honors program last week. No one else that i’ve talked to has heard back yet that wasn’t invited to the honors or a special program. I’m not sure how much test scores matter-- my ACT is a 31 which is alright, but my grades are all As.

My son just found out today

Our son was admitted to U Conn with merit money. No mention of Honors College. Would he have gotten an Honors acceptance with his regular acceptance?
