UCR Move-In Day: Parking Permit???

I tried contacting housing for this, but they’re either too busy on the phone or won’t respond to emails. But does anyone from past Move-In Days know if we need to purchase a parking permit?

I will not be driving this year, my parents are the ones bringing the car to drop my stuff off. So:

  • How long can they park the car? They want to come into the Residence Hall with me and help me unpack. (And ultimately say goodbye.)
  • Can we bring two cars? Both my parents can drive and they were considering the possibility of bringing my bicycle in one car and my stuff in the other. Our cars are pretty small, so we would need to leave the bicycle at home if we’re restricted to one car.

I was just really confused because some emails from Housing regarding Move-In Days are telling us not to bring a car if we don’t have a parking permit ordered.

You don’t need a permit for Move-In Day. The emails that say don’t bring car are more for those who will be keeping their cars on campus.

Thank you! That’s one less worry off my shoulders

No problem :)>-

@bluessky I had kind of the same question except I will have a car this year. My parents are coming in the car and I’m driving mine. Will we be able to park/use both cars or do they only allow one car in?
