I am a transfer student from Santa Barbara City College and planned on tagging UCR for Fall 2014 admission as a Business Administration major. However, my planned courses up till Spring 14 have me falling short of completing the second calculus course as well as the intro to business course.

I have a 3.92 GPA and IGETC completed, however what are the chances of my TAG being denied as a result of me not completing those two courses?

I have heard cases in the past where students were allowed to finish their lower level courses in the summer before transferring and still entered their UC with junior standing.

According to Assist.org, you are not required to take the second semester of Calc. However, Intro to Bus is listed as a “Lower div major requirement” so you need to take that course. I would try and take it in the summer before you transfer since its a req.

Btw, with that strong of a GPA, pending any relocation barriers/special situations, I’d advise you to apply to broadly among the top UC’s. You should have a strong shot assuming you have a lot of the pre-reqs done.
